Keep in mind when you buy alcohol overseas you usually have a 1 litre allowance on re-entry, anything over that has to be declared and taxed

Costantini is one of the most well-stocked shops in Italy for wines and various spirits but you will hardly find bargains there
@BourbonRetrieverАй бұрын
Good to know. Had the biggest selection I saw, but makes sense on the prices as you probably need higher prices to keep a selection like that. 🥃

I'm sure you will catch it later, the Jack Daniel 6 is actually Jim Beam Black. Although I do think that's an older label because it used to have an age statement of 8 years, to no age statement and now a 7 year statement. Looks like a great trip, I hope I can make it too!

Thanks for the info! So many label changes hard to keep up. Rome is a great place to visit, highly recommend!

Not on the video per se, but I saw a whole bunch of NOVA ABC stores this afternoon with the Batch 4 "Jimmy's Batch" Booker's on shelves.

Cool find! One I’m interested in trying because of the backstory on that batch. Congrats 🥃

@@BourbonRetriever I hope, & am sure, you'll find one. I've seen at least a dozen in multiple shops from Falls Church to Woodbridge yesterday & today. I've also seen the Widow Jane Black Opal, McKenna SB BiB, Valencia, & a bunch of other limited availability stuff.

Wonder what that JD Rye was at 19:23
@BourbonRetrieverАй бұрын
Nice catch, I think its a single barrel rye at 94 proof. But the cool part is that it was bottled in 2016 based on the neck tag. Been sitting for a bit

Haha they got mellow corn yet our stores dont even carry it anymore by me, but thats ok we got buffalo trace lineup and other heaven hill products like always on deck so that will do. Weird they did BT at 80 proof. Id brought home some good limoncello and amaretto if there. Also becareful buying old decanters especially the porcelain ceramic like ones as they will leech lead into the bourbons especially higher proofs as i have like 30 plus old decanters from 60's to 80's that im currently trying to sell of old jim bean, jack, weller even weirder canadian whiskeys too but warn everyone especially the older ones if your thinking of drinking it as a "dusty whiskey" be warned and if possible test it for lead using a kit you can buy and send in sample for testing but im not about to go spend the cost and just selling them as cool unopened decanters especially the american folk art or hunting trophy animal ones are cool just to have for a man cave or home bar piece. Cool video

Thanks for the awesome comment! I typically steer away from decanters for that very reason, plus the corks aren’t always in the best shape. Excited to try the BT to see how different it is. Thanks for the tips on the amaretto and limoncello! Cheers 🥃

@@BourbonRetriever I found the food depends on where you go cost wise. Accommodation wasn't too bad in my opinion. Travel I found was very expensive but very good. Alcohol is cheap period. You could get a beer when I went for 90 yen to 130 yen. The can coffees are really good hot of the machines for like 80-100 yen. Yeah coffees and alcohol is quite cheap. Fruit is super expensive like 10000 yen for a watermelon. Meat is really expensive as well. Anything natural like fruit meats etc... is really expensive. Everyone eats alot of rice. Clothing is really really nice and fairly inexpensive depending on where you go I was in Yokohama, Yokosuka area mainly. Yeah I recommend going to hakuyen stores and daisos. There your best option for buying things
