with island circuits, we usually (IF the floor is being done) run a bit of 50mm flexi duct to somewhere accessible at a later date. A plumber thanked us once..they decided to install a sink but he'd (DUH!) forgotten to run the water to the area (waste was easy, extension, nearby manhole). We agreed to let him use our duct for his speedfit pipes :D

Great videos again Nick. Doing a rewire on your own is not easy, well done!

got lucky today, went to drill a hole under a windowsill for 2x cat6 UV rated cables with a weedy dewalt... there was a void under the windowsill, cable flew thru... running data to the lounge, 2x cat 6, one for a proper access point and one for the smart tv. Managed to re-use the redundant holes left by the sky bodgers. But 50m run x 2, clipped direct, every brick, at dpc level... my arm is sore lol. Used white heatshrink on the internal sections (decision was made to terminate the cables direct to plugs rather than cat6 rj45s for more reliability)

Which tapes do you use with your labeller Nick? Heat shrinks specifically? Do you use genuine brother or Amazon soecial?

I hope that heat shrink is staying on those cables 😂
@TheChipmunk20082 күн бұрын
Sharpie it underneath the heatshrink. I usually don't bother with it for first fix stuff, but for stuff like gas/water bonds, data drops, etc, it makes it look really 'chef's kiss'

How do you get the text printed onto the white sleeving. 😊
@cadebrown4067Күн бұрын
It’s heat shrink sleeving, specifically for use in a printer
@HillcrestHaltКүн бұрын
@@cadebrown4067 Thankyou. I’ve got loads of heat shrink. Just no way to print onto it. Would be ideal for labelling all the wires under my model railway baseboards. 😊
@cadebrown4067Күн бұрын
@@HillcrestHalt ah nice ! Yeah if you go onto google and search BROTHER printer it’s what most of us sparks use. Then you can buy a cartridge of heat shrink sleeving for them which you can print onto
@oynsyКүн бұрын
Specifically the Brother PT-E560BTSP and higher models do heat shrink labels, not cheap
