I have a mixture of the Hawaiian black aragalive sand and that beige color crushed coral sand. It looks good all mixed together.

IO reef crystals is the worst salt, it leaves brown brown mineral slicks on the sides of your mixing buckets and PH levels fluctuate more then I like them too. I was always a big fan of Red Sea coral pro. If you're going to grow coral, the calcium levels in it are high and minimize the need for dosing

Joey go to a garden store or nursery and get the landscape gravel for $6-7 for 50 lb

I switch from instant sea salt to red sea salt in the bucket and its a way better salt for just a couple bucks more and 5 gallon bucket dose 170 gallons always thought salt with salt as well and it's not the Red Sea salt dissolves better there's less calcium left on the bottom of the water after it dissolves in the bucket it just seems to be all around better salt give it a try I guarantee you once you try it you won't go back to Instant Ocean

they lose there colour as they get bigger but maybe changing the diet to some colour enhancing foods may help
