That’s fantastic! And the shed skin on top of the butterfly wing is REALLY unique! The iridescence on the Zuko the Mexican West Coast rattlesnake heart pendant is really striking. (Edited to add: oh WOW that double blue morpho butterfly jar is breathtaking!) Also, I wanted to say that the memorial site on your website is really lovely. ❤

that is really neat! Where do you source the jars from? thrifting? custom jobs? bulk buys? I really liked the diamond pattern going on in this one and hard agree with Khills, the memorial is a beautiful idea

@philippak7726 I get the jars as I see them from whatever store. The best way I can describe If it catches my eye and it's screams. Put a butterfly in me, I grab it. But if there is a jar, somebody wants me to put butterfly in I am willing to do it if the jar has an appropriate size opening for whatever butterfly they'd want. For example, the butterfly jar I gave at an Emily has a Emerald swallow tale in it. That butterfly needs an opening about the size of an average tin can circumference

As someone who doesn't have the money or space for a ton of reptiles but loves them dearly, the emphasis on education at this show definitely makes it stand out for me. Sadly I doubt I'll be in Sacremento anytime soon but I'd love if some East Coast reptile shows would adopt this format as well.
@Nirrrina5 ай бұрын
I'd love to go to this show too because of all the educational animals. I don't really want to put in the work to properly house & care for a reptile. So instead I just enjoy seeing other people's animals. Same with fish. I enjoy seeing them but I'm not motivated enough to have a proper well cared for environment. So I don't have any for their sake. But I still really enjoy seeing them & if I ever did decide I wanted one I'd adopt a rescue after a lot of research. But honestly my cats are enough for me. Also the cost would be a bit high for me & I don't have much space that isn't filled with craft stuff. I'm going to have to try & find the resin frog again because I have that mold.

@stepasidepops61766 ай бұрын
Graphic Designer here! Ill explain why at 2:05. The snake discovery banner is at low resolution! Most images on the internet are. A low resolution image normally has a less dense scaling of pixels per inch (ppi) or dots per inch (dpi). The more pixels something has, the crisper it looks. Most things have 72 dpi on the internet, and for printer images, high resolution standards are 300 dpi. The reason it looks SO pixelated is because it was probably made at a smaller size and scaled up. The existing pixels in the image cant add any more nuance or details on their own so if you add more pixels to make it larger, it just makes the tiny squares larger in the exact same size and shape where possible. Making it look really pixelated. BUT! The larger the print the lower the resolution requirements actually. Because the size of files needed when it gets large enough increases exponentially the larger you get, and often the larger the image the further away people are to see pixels! Billboards for example also have very low dpi. Down to 30 or even 10 ppi. Your banner looks to be a little bit of both. It probably was made with too low of a resolution, and the pixel count is normally a little low anyways on those as well. So you were right! It looks great from far away just as it meant to.
@lindseytavares5905 ай бұрын
Also, if the lettering can be in vector it should be! Vector doesn't use pixels which keeps lettering crisp at any size

Hi! 👋 I wanted to say, unrelated to this video, I've been raised to fear snakes my whole life. Thanks to Emily and Ed with this channel, I encountered a corn snake in my yard today and rather than running in fear or rushing to end lives, I stopped to say hi to the snake pal and found that he (long skinny tail) was actually really friendly and docile. There was no strike pose, but instead he just stopped, head low, and sniffed around. Basically saying hi back. I'm positive the sun was getting to him and he was heading for shade. I'm proud of myself for reacting this way and not being afraid like I probably would have a month ago. Thank you for teaching me to know better! ❤
