Looks like so much fun! I think it's really important as we age to keep pursuing that feeling of being alive. I've started taking at least one trip per year by myself. Being out of my comfort zone and exploring a new place on my own has been so rewarding.

Just wanted to say I’ve been a climber for the better part of a decade now. Climbing has become my life and my motivation for everything. I’m in the gyms constantly (including this Vital!) and have spoken to countless climbers over the years from amateurs to professionals. This was a beautiful new take and experience with climbing and I’m so grateful I stumbled upon this. Your experience with climbing completely refreshed me, and it’s helping me remember why I love this sport so damn much. Thank you for this! Edit: omg I’m loving hearing you use all the climbing terms! Barn door! This is amazing thank you for this content. You should try rope climbing sometime (I work at one of the gyms so I can always show you if someone else can’t :)

Wow thank you! My trainer told me all about barn door and T. rex arms. I would love to learn rope climbing. I am going today again for my second time and am determined to get to that final V0 block on top! Thx so much for watching and commenting.

Thank you for this video, you are such an inspiration. I was reading Brian Tracy and he explains the importance of looking for people who inspire and motivate you to be better and I immediately thought of you.

@bedazzledbuddhist I'm 47 years old and I thought maybe it was too late for what I wanted, but I decided that I'm going to do it, I'm going to study psychology.

Very wholesome. I'm super happy you are taking these steps in your life. I've been climbing for almost 20 years now, having seen the tourists in my gym I expected a lot of cringe here, I couldn't have been more wrong. You're doing great! Glad you found a love for climbing, it's been the most important thing I've ever done in my life. Look a lot better hanging low on the hold but that's just one piece. If you can steer your body with your legs you don't even need the pull up into the next hold a lot of times. Just use your arm you don't want to move as a pivot and keep it straight, push and move with your legs while hanging from the arm. Rotate into the shoulder to reach up, that sort of thing. Very efficient climbing technique.

Thank you for the tip! I am coming back from my second try, did t make it to the top but felt less fearful on the wall. Trying to get the feel for using my legs instead of my arms. It will happen with patience and persistence.

@@bedazzledbuddhist Glad you went back and hope you go again. You'll get there, maybe even get a V2 before the end of the year even! The gym is a very friendly place, look out for people making it look easy and ask them for tips too. I started out not being able to do a single pull up and now I do V8, a lot of it due to helpful people at the gym.

That’s great to know. I am headed to FL for the holidays and already looked up a climbing gym to go to down there. And just got a hand strengthening tool to help with my grip. That’s my biggest problem, I don’t have confidence that my hands can hold on.
@SanityDoesNotSell19 күн бұрын
@@bedazzledbuddhist Yeah you mentioned the grip tool, I'm not so sure on that one, never used one. I know a lot of people who get them but hardly ever used them. I've seen people do grip testers and climbers are generally pretty strong on them but not really what you'd expect. Some people think it has to do with the way those grip muscles activate, climbing is a static strength so you lock your hand in that grip and it doesn't move, those trainers are a full squeeze motion so it's dynamic. I'm sure it will build what you need to feel strong and confident in any case. There's also some great static exercises you can do like hang board hangs or even just bar hangs. Most of the avid climbers just do 3+ hour sessions and don't train a lot of grip too, that's always an option lol.

My trainer is starting to have me do bar hanging but agree, those grippers are questionable. Can’t hurt!
