Skito Saddle Pads
I was in the market for a new saddle pad after my old one wore out.
Agnes, my riding mule, has a bad back and it makes a big difference to have a good saddle pad.

Ellis Canvas Tents
I reached out to Ellis Canvas Tents because I was just not too happy with my sleep system. I had seen their products before and was really impressed with the "Cowboy Bedroll". They sent me one to try and can say that so far it is the best I have used for Cowboy Camping.
Soon I hope I can get one of their Canvas Tents

My dad was part of the final treasure hunting expedition the Army allowed on Victorio Peak. I believe it was financed by Doc Noss' descendants. Dad was a driller and they had him poking holes looking for voids (caves) to send a camera down to see what was in them. They didn't find anything of interest. It's always been my belief the Army took the gold out during WW2 and never told anyone. They only allowed treasure hunting there because they knew nothing was there.

A few years ago I went with my uncle and cousin Oryx hunting on that missile range. The only way we could go was to be escorted by a fella that worked at the base facility who was a friend of my uncle. We really put the miles on that truck before we found a suitable bull. But what amazed me was all the old homesteads and ranch houses still standing. Love your travels. Take care.

Maybe you can go with him, on- or off camera, that's for you to decide, of course 😊 but that would be sooo awesome for Brett! Even if no camera is allowed, he can tell that story, I mean.. he is a master of that and a great thing to have, but it would for sure be a nice experience for him to see and do, as an outing on vacation time, maybe? Would sure love to hear him tell about it! Hope that you can help him out to get there?

@@BrettVaughnB100 glad you still got it in you to get out there and do some exploring. I have owned a couple of mules and in my limited experience I know you love the good ones and really hate the bad ones. I had a barn sour mule that no amount of sweet feed or coaxing would allow her to be caught up especially if she knew a wet saddle blanket was involved.

Based on where I think you were on that ridge, you might have been pointing to the correct peak. I have never been to the area where I think you were. One of the articles on my website has audio tape of Dr. Lambert Dolphin of SRI talking about the GPR scan while still on site at the peak. I think Toney Jolley only got 10 of those bars. The most amazing thing about this vid is the weather. Basically no wind considering it's spring in NM. Somewhere over in there is supposed to be the "Cave of 1,000 Steps". I have heard of it but don't have any real information on it. 7 miles in that terrain cross country is like 12+ on the flats.

I love watching your vids but this one is especially meaningful to my wife and I. She is the daughter of one of the four men from the Air Force base that discovered the cave opening. These four men "claimed to be out hunting" in November of 1958 when one of them discovered the entrance and went in. We have the specifics of what happened afterwards regarding what was discovered and the steps taken to hide the entrance. He gave us some very colorful stories of subsequent trips out to the area including being shot at by people trying to scare them off. My wife has his files and notes and they make for interesting reading! These notes provide much, much better context than the latest documentary on the Discovery Channel. My wife and I have our opinion about what happened.

Oh man Brett, I had a flash back of me as a kid always running down the horses. One end of the pasture or back and forth in paddock. My old man used to say that’s how the Indians finally got some of their horses by running them down. Never had a chance to hear if that had any truth to it. Eventually if you were more stubborn than them you could get a slow hand and a lead line around around their neck. I can’t imagine doing that with one mule let alone two and the new molly not knowing you yet doesn’t help much… darn

When running 1st two miles tuffest, then body stops fighting and kinda collapses not fighting the process, then second wind , you feel you could go on and on . Adrenaline’s kick

They say that his wife tried for years to get ownership of the mine. I heard the military went in and confiscated all the gold bars . That was some pretty steep bushwhacking … nice view !

Going out there alone is the only way to do it, see it, experience it. With others they are a distraction, babbling, small talk, blah blah, commotion preventing you from actually seeing and feeling the dirt, air, smell, shade, heat and sights. And if you drop dead so be it. Out there with your pack train animals and supplies would be so much freedom with no timetable. Have fun friend.

You need to stop considering yourself old, I'm 80 and I'm not old yet. If you tell yourself that you're old, your body will believe you. You are able to ride and walk, enjoy the outdoors, that is not an old man. You have places to go and things to see.
