The only critisizm i have for their store, as someone that specializes in luxury resale, they really need to stuff some of those bags more. A few of those flap bags were sitting kinda half-slumped on the shelf and you can tell it would create lines and folds after a while!

Their packaging leaves a lot to be desired too, I ordered a Hermes Avalon blanket from them and it came balled up in a plastic bag. Not very luxury! (Blanket itself was brand new and lovely.)

I think it's mainly due to mass production. They didn't use to produce the amount of bags they produce nowadays and therefore they were putting more efforts/time and better quality of the materials on the production of any item. Now with Instagram and lots of people who can afford them, they need to produce more and these are the consequences.

Omg Sophie that black bag You refurbished is absolutely beautiful. And I think more and more people are buying vintage and pre-loved … A lot of my friends are now looking at going to consignment stores and staying away from the boutiques because of the high price points and they’re loving it. Just like you said cleaning them up and really seeing how they look new again and knowing that you paid a really great price for it… that is the key

Interesting video! The store aught to make much more of an effort to retain the shape of the bags, there is no reason for them to sink in or lose their shape just because they are vintage. Bags need to be stuffed and dust protected wether they are from the high street or luxury bags, old and new.

A quick tip for smell removal: There are plenty of great car detailers in London. Find one who has an ozone generator. Leave the bags in the car. (explain the guy what you're up to) and within an hour all the smell is gone! :D

Your camera bag is stunning. Those vintage ones are so much more well sized than the silly, tiny modern camera bags. It makes sense because the more upmarket cameras in the 80s were great big things with huge telephoto lenses and the old style flash bulbs. You showed some beautiful bags in this video. I especially love the black box Kellys and the white one. The 32 is a great size. It’s big enough to hold a ton but because of the design it doesn’t look overwhelming and the really good thing is that they are quite reasonably priced compared to Chanel these days and certainly compared to the smaller ones because everyone wants the tiny ones, which I don’t understand at all. Mini bags are not my thing and they look silly on me.

I has am 80s square box Chanel camera with the double C in the quilt, rather than metal. It was navy blue lamb skin with the chain handle, and that lovely strokable tassel. I killed it through over use. I regret that now

Ok, I’m more Hermes than Chanel😂. I have a couple Chanel bags and love them, but Hermes is my fav. Just an interesting note I’ve seen (at least here in States) is resale Hermes is insane price wise. I bought a Birkin in Paris and it is now triple the price. One note…Hermes will only release a color one time and never release again. It may b one shade off, but it will never be the same. Etaupe, black, orange are constants. But that Kelly is a gray and may be a one off. Just to keep in mind. It’s one of reasons why their bags hold value. Oh, and I walked in and met a wonderful sales lady, I didn’t go in blaring Hermes, I just went in as me, take it or leave it. My uniform - blazer, tee, jeans, and comfy sneakers. She remembers me whenever I go in and she’s just the best. I’ve found that every sales person I’ve met, if u are just a nice person and not entitled, they are nice back. I feel sorry for them for all the pretentious people who go in feeling that they are owed a bag and get testy when denied.
