sorry if I rained on your parade but because cat cafés are such a gigantic thing that it’s reaching out to the US there are a lot of ethical problems around it. In Japan, where it mostly originated from, the cats may not be as well supervised and customers less educated therefore harming the cats. another bad thing about this is some cat cafés wouldn’t have any private resting areas for the cats. This would mean that customers would just wake them up whenever they would want. This mostly ties into the ethical problems of animal themed cafés lacking the proper administration/management. hopefully the customers respect the cats there. ❤❤

​@@honeysquaresThat would be a problem. But from what little I've seen from KZbinrs who go to Japan and visit cat cafes, they have a LOT of rules. Many cafes don't let you pick up the cats. And some have high catwalks so even if the cats don't have a de-stress room, they can get out of reach.

We have a few shelters near near me. Don't forget the shy ones, I got two, one extremly shy boy that took a few months to come up front with me. But he is so loving and lays on my lap and hold like a baby. Just give them a chance and they'll return love many times over.

That place is gorgeous. Those cats get to be socialized while being in a safe environment . Food daily and a chance for a permanent home. Those are wonderful places.
