Yes there's probably other restaurants where the locals go to you could try, but that Stifado looked fantastic and so tender beef. Hats off to the owners and chefs for that!

Deano, the Beef Stifado looked great and I could taste it with your every bite. A meal and a half to go with the beer and a half. And great close ups of the meal too. The colours are incredible as is the resolution.

Stamnas and Sofrito are both amazing, if you liked the stifado you should definitely try them before you leave. Another traditional stifado is with rabbit

If it's still open try the Four Lanterns at Great Portland Street in London m8. I left London back in 1988 but in 2000 in went back with my partner and her kids, I walked in and the owner remembered me.

But I think a decent Greek Salad small Meze plates would be nice if it is too hot for anything too heavy. The Beef Stifado looked amazing! The dancing was cute and there is no missing the aftermath of the plate smashing.

kleftico is delicious normally cooked in foil or paper its not technically a casserole and that stiffado looked quite good for kavos although sauce looked a bit thin and not much of it .stiffado normally has cinnamon in the sauce if thats what you tasting greek food is the best in the world

Good on them for banging out decent greek food in a place full of tourists who probably don't want too much of that stuff (which is why the Greek and English menu I guess!) - Looked nice though - definitely not scrimping on the beef.

I have no doubt you will love stifado. People who refuse to eat stuff like this are just idiots missing out on awesome food. Funny thing is id bet those same people would eat it from a 2nd rate takeaway or a supermarket ready meal if it was in the uk..

With all due to respect to all of these restaurants that try to serve you authentic greek food let me tell you that the food there is mediocre at best. I wish you could try my auntie's wild boar stifado with rich tomato sauce and many spices. It would blown your mind. We serve it with a beautiful mash or fresh deep fried chips or thick pasta like greek bucatini. Greek food is more than souvlaki,salad, Tzatziki,mousaka. Unfortunately even in Greece in the most places you can't find properly made greek good anymore.
