My family and I were visiting Atlanta last summer for our church convention. OLG was definitely on our “To Do List!” And the ole girl’s did not disappoint! We ordered a wide variety of item’s. I ordered the shrimp and grit’s and I was very satisfied! The flavor, quantity of food, presentation and price of food were on point. The restaurant has a lot of character and we loved the experience. None of the OLG’s, Candy or Todd were there that day, but we were just happy to be there.

Yes, I agree with you. I don't think this restaurant was created for the benefit of folk enjoying soulfood. I have the feeling it was created as a cash cow for Kandi's Aunts (to keep them out of Kandi's life with Todd)..always complaining about him. I think Todd sold this restaurant idea to Kandi just to prove them wrong. That he is not just spending her money. So at the end of the day.. I feel it has absolutely nothing to do with black folks enjoying a delicious affordable soul food meal. It was quite the opposite. It's just a quick money maker.. I do Private/ Personal Cooking, and I even think it's pricey for that item. Shrimp and Grits are not an Elegant Meal, it's a Inexpensive Southern Meal. I don't know why people (Black People Mostly) think Shrimp is So Expensive when it Simply comes out of the water. Also Grits are really cheap, and you can get a lot out of one big bag. Even with the sauce and toppings, it should have been $12.95 at the most for that $6 dollar plate of food.

I visited back in May of 2017 (Memorial Day weekend). It was sooo unorganized. The kitchen equipment broke down and the waitress didn't decide to covey that until after sitting waiting at our table for a hour. I was only able to tast the cornbread (which was sooo delicious). I wasnt a fan. We waited for an hour to be seated and we had reservations for 19. The food is so overpriced and not that great. I waited over an hour for my food, everyone's food came out at different times. I must say the staff is extremely nice. Todd was there and took time to take pictures with us.

I had family in from California and we went there from the airport to have a "quick" meal. First of all the wait time is ridiculous and will waiting the servers/employees were going to the restroom still wearing their aprons which to me is very unsanitary. Also the employees act as if they are confused and don't know what they should be doing. Now to the food, me and others in our party thought that the menu was very limited and we didn't care for the food. Okay location, the parking lot for the business is behind the building and the driveway is so narrow and has a serious blind spot which only one car at a time can enter or exit. Decor, maybe it's just me but if I didn't know that it was OLG and someone told me it was I would call them a liar because I thought the place should represent Kandi not something that looks as though it was put together at the last minute.

Ok so if you come out of OLG and go to the right. About 2 blocks down (same side of the block) there’s a neighborhood restaurant that I stumbled upon when OLG told me it would be a 3 hour wait. When I tell you their shrimp and grits were GREAT and probably not as expensive whew Chile. So I say try to find them. We sat with some neighborhood people and it sounded like the place had been there a long time. So I’m sure it’s still there. This was August 2017. There was a closed night club next door and a parking lot on the corner of that helps you find it. Give it a hunt down! ❤️

I go there to eat everytime I go to Atlanta. Their food is delicious! I LOVE eating there and that's usually the highlight of my trip - knowing that I'm gonna get to go eat there! We always make reservations because there is usually a long line when we go, and we taken right to our seat as soon as we walk in the door. The salmon is to die for, fried chicken, hell, it's ALL delicious!

Shrimp & grits are going to cost 14-$17 at restaurants that serve that meal. They're not prepared like regular grits. Some recipes even call for wine. It depends on the restaurant.

That Sprite sounded exclusive. It wasn't Sprite it was a Spirit! 😂 It looks good, yeah from the thumbnail it did look messy but after seeing it in the video it does look better. One would think that with those prices you would get more shrimps than what was given. From what I saw of the restaurant itself, it looked more like a small dive and carry out! The ambience of the place, and the food presentation matters a lot. Even down to the containers used for food carry out makes a difference between a restaurant showing a touch of class and a restaurant showing no class or concern for how they serve their customers. It would had been a lot nicer if instead that they had placed the Shrimp and Grits in a bowl with a top that said OLG imprinted on it! For the food pricing, they need to make it worth the prices they are expecting the customer to pay.
