Just so you know because of the brøndby hooligans who went over to the away fans and threw the flares at them, the government has ruled out that there no longer can be away fans at these derbys anymore. So still exciting matches to come but the atmosphere wont be the same.

The original 1918 building facade and that part of the stadium is not being touched for historical preservation/reasons, but the rest of it is being totally rebuild and renovated.

Fair burn calling them FC Brøndby/Brøndby FC with how their ''fans'' act, don't worry Brøndby, I don't like FCK ''fans'' either. It also got actual consequences where matches will not be played with fans from the opposing team, meaning that matches in Brøndby Stadium will not have fans from FCK and matches in Parken (FCK Stadium) will not have Brøndby fans. Some allegedly FCK ''fans'' started a fight outside a Pub which is not even in Brøndby and smashed all but a few windows and threw stickers on the cameras just before.

And that is one of the reasons why I don’t like football. All that police is such a waste of taxes.. Go to any other sport in Denmark and you won’t see any Police.. Even In a contact sport like hockey! If you go to one the derby’s there (let’s say SønderjyskE v. Esbjerg), you can have friendly banter with fans from the other team when you go out for some fresh air in the breaks..

@@Gnaggan 1. Only AIK are a somewhat big club in Scandinavia. DIF and Hammarby are completely unknown outside of Sweden, and the only thing your derbies have meant, is about local bragging rights. Whereas FCK and BIF are actual Big clubs, and the games between the two have decided trophies many times. 2. The Tifos and atmospheres are mostly on the same level? Brøndby did a boycott on atmosphere due to their owners in 2022, and have fallen a bit off on the Tifo game. Parken doesn’t have a hanging system like your modern concert bowls, which have much much better acoustics than both Brøndby stadion and Parken, so it’s a bit weird to compare tifos when the stadiums have completely different terms… 3. The fact that you can have 8 k away fans is only due to your new stadium (paid by the government). We only have 2 k and 3 k away ends because the boards of BIF and FCK are having a childish beef about allocation (same situation as Celtic-Rangers)

But yeah, there is always a good atmosphere in those games, and lucky for you to experience it before the ban of away fans. For the upcoming future, no away fans are allowed in the stadiums for the Derby's, could be a couple of years or forever, but for now, it will only be home team supporters.
