I was lucky enough to be on the snareline for Sherwood HS the first (likely only) time we went to Dayton. We were meant to go in 2020 but that didn't work out too well, but we had already raised and spent so much money so we kept the same show, made massive improvements and continued fundraising for this once in a lifetime experience. To top it all off, we placed first in PSO which I have no clue how that happened. There were so many other talented and amazing groups so this was a blessing and a dream come true.

A side note....As an AF vet. love the visit to the USAF museum. Really sobering when you look at a plane and realize that B-29 that says "Bock's Car" on the side isn't a replica. nor is it a different air frame painted to look like Bock's Car...it really IS the airplane that dropped the Bomb on Nagasaki. Usually. museum planes don't have the history assigned to them by the display...most of the Allied ones were training aircraft that never left the States, because the actual famous planes were too badly beaten up by combat to bring home. The Axis planes tend to be different....that Ju-88 with the Romanian livery really DID fly for Romania during the war. And the "Strawberry Bitch" IS the same B-24D that flew combat missions in North Africa.

From Ninety Six High School! We made finals for the first time this year (our first year the floor messed up in prelims I believe and they got knocked out in semis the next year, then the whole covid thing happened) and we medaled 3rd in A Class. I’m on the snare line, about to move to tenors, it just feels so amazing to make history. Our school has only about 400 people in it, and our town population is like 1,000 something I think.
