Welcome to Teacup For One, my name is Matt and I have two degrees!
Just like a great cup of tea, this channel is a blend of diverse and exciting ingredients: mix some Disney with some Shakespeare, a dash of Funko Pops, a splash of unboxing videos and the occasional travel vlog and you’ve got a Teacup for One.
This channel started as a Walt Disney World Resort vlog for solo travelers, and has evolved into a one stop destination for Disnerds of all kinds! Perhaps you want to find out Matt’s picks for the best character meet and greets at Walt Disney World, or see the ultimate showdown between Butterbeer (The Wizarding World of Harry Potter) vs Green and Blue Milk (Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge) vs LeFou’s Brew (New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom)? Or find out where to find Disney World treats in Canada? Or maybe you want to hear about the Imagineering backstories behind the Society of Explorers and Adventurers, and how it may (or may not) be the foundation for a new cinematic universe (or SEAverse) incorporating movies based on fan favourite rides such as the Jungle Cruise, The Hunted Mansion, The Tower of Terror and more!
But Teacup for One isn’t just about Disney, Matt also loves talking about William Shakespeare and seeing how the bard’s classic plays continue to influence our contemporary pop culture...did you know The Lion King has more in common with The Henriad than Hamlet? Or, perhaps, that Marvel’s Thor and Loki are perfect mirrors of Edgar and Edmund from King Lear? Or maybe you’re interested in Matt’s picks for the Best Shakespeare Films of all time!
And of course, if you’re familiar with Matt’s Instagram profile, the channel wouldn’t be complete without some Funko Pops! Every once in a while Matt will do an unboxing from one of his favorite Funko Pop retailers!
And of course let’s not forget about Teacup for One original content! So far we’ve had a Droid beauty pageant reality show (Droids and Diadems) and a four part Christmas webseries based called “# Scrooge: A Christmas Carol Webseries” based on the classic Christmas ghost story by Charles Dickens!
Whatever you’re a fan of, we hope this channel is your Cup of Tea!

From my childhood (which was a very long time ago), it was always Jungle Book. (I still think the waterfall in the opening scene is one of the most beautifully animated things in Disney history.) Beyond that, it’s hard to choose a favorite, because I flip flop a lot. The ones I rewatch the most are probably Lilo & Stitch and Tangled and Moana… and Encanto moved up really fast. Princess & the Frog I waited a long time to see for some reason and it was better then I expected so it could move up quickly in the rewatch factor!

Hard to choose one but probably Moana or Big Hero 6 at the moment… (while rewatching emperor’s new groove, Nemo and Lilo & Stitch from time to time)

Disney is celebrating 100 years of wonder (1923-2023). Did the experience have Classic Disney Shorts, including the Silly Symphonies (Three Little Pigs)?
@TeacupForOne
@TeacupForOne Жыл бұрын
@@ninagabriellet.bantoto1625 thanks for watching! the focus is definitely on feature films from the past 20-30 years, there are a lot of movies represented in the montages so it’s possible there could have been some Silly Symphony clips interspersed but there wasn’t a dedicated sequence for the golden age material. Like I mentioned in the video, I would have loved to see some of the Alice comedies represented to really take it back to the stuff that was being produced in 1923, but I think they’re catering to a younger crowd so Elsa, Moana, Mirabel and Rapunzel are the stars and the oldest films to get dedicated sequences are from the renaissance with ‘Circle of Life’ and ‘Poor Unfortunate Souls’. The exhibits before the projection room lean more toward the classic era, but again the focus is very much on features vs the shorts.

Oh, Matt…you are always a delight to watch, especially at these events. This experience looks amazing and I hope it comes somewhere to California. I have seen Sleeping Beauty in CinemaScope when they rereleased it at the CineramaDome and also at the Hollywood Bowl. If you ever get to see it in that format, you need to. I would love to see Snow White on the big screen someday. I watched it last night again for the Umpeenth time and it is a thing of beauty. Or imagine watching the Cinderella dress transformation on the big screen! Thanks for sharing your experience and review! - Loren

It makes me sad for all of you who grew up having your own copies of Disney movies at home… because while that’s cool, what you missed out on was decades of Disney regularly re-releasing their classics into theaters! I got to see so many of the classics like Snow White several times throughout my life, starting when I was little. (Fun fact, Snow White was the first movie my mother ever saw, and I’m talking when it was first run! It was around her fifth birthday and the witch scared the hell out of her 😂) I would love Disney to spend a year or two just putting their old films back out into theaters, just for fun!

@@bitchenboutique6953 I was born in 1969, about 15 or so years before VHS. My first memories are seeing Disney on the big screen. I know I watched a rerelease of Snow White when I was a kid, but I didn’t appreciate it as much as I would today. Some of these films I would love to see on the big screen as an adult where I can appreciate the majesty of it. - Loren

Thank you Loren!!!! I would LOVE to see Sleeping Beauty in full CinemaScope glory 🤩 I did get a chance to see Snow White in theatres when I was 5 or 6, and I actually remember re-releases were still a thing into the 90s, I definitely saw Little Mermaid in theatres and it was probably around the ten year anniversary. I would love to see them bring rereleases back!!

We went January 2023 … got the VIP experience… on a dead day. What a waste of money. We got to “bypass the line” ~ and “get early access to the show room” ~ there was maybe 15 people there in total …. We didn’t need VIP. I was so upset I spent nearly 400$ for me my husband and my 2 year old to watch some screens. Overall the only thing I adored was watching my daughter play with the bubbles

How long of each movie do they play? Also, you get to keep the wristbands? Also, your only allowed to be inside for 53 minutes? Or is that the time for each movie?
@TeacupForOne
@TeacupForOne Жыл бұрын
Yes, if you get a ticket that includes a wristband then you get to keep the wristband! As for the show: it’s a set 53 minutes, so once it’s over they usher you out and bring in the next group, like seeing one of the 3D movies at Disney World. They have clips representing a ton of movies, and they’re all montages set to different songs, so they play a song in its entirety but you’ll see clips from a bunch of movies during each song (ie- “Poor Unfortunate Souls” features all the Disney villains, not just Ursula)

@@TeacupForOne I see! So just to clarify, you only get 53 mins in the building to go though everything?
@TeacupForOne
@TeacupForOne Жыл бұрын
The projection show portion is 53 minutes, but you can arrive early to go through the pre-show exhibit. When I went, doors to the projection room opened 30 minutes before the showtime and they recommend arriving at least 20 minutes early for time to explore the pre-show exhibit.

Thanks for your review!! Helps me decide about checking it out ☺️ One question: do the wristbands list up for a reason? Maybe in time with the music? I'm curious about the point of them haha!
@TeacupForOne
@TeacupForOne Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching!! Yes, the wristbands light up to compliment whatever’s happening in the show, and there are a few sequences where they pulse or change colour with the music. I think it’s more of a novelty for the kids, but it also adds some cool ambience to the space when you have a room full of people wearing them since they add some extra light and colour. But I’m not sure they serve any purpose after the show, and I could never figure out how to turn it off 😅

@@TeacupForOne yeah it was just giant static images. And I guess they were the actual size of the images in the Sistine Chapel ceiling and brought down to where you can see them up close (and I’ve only ever seen them in books!) so it wasn’t NOTHING… but it wasn’t immersive.
