Mike did say on the Zach Sang podcast that he wrote some of the songs with the perspective of Chester, because he said when he would write he would take Chester's emotions that he told him about and turn them into refined lyrics, and Chester LOVED when he would do that. So he kind of did that here and there, thinking of him. He didn't specifically say this song was one of those, and I doubt he ever will since he likes to keep it vague, but I think this is definitely a Chester song. And it's so beautiful and emotional.

when listening to this the first time, I didn't cry, but I did on the second. Chester's gone, and he's not coming back. And that sucks, *so much* But I sat there and thought about it. I am so *SO* grateful the rest of them are here, and that they're making music again. Linkin Park was my first concert, in London on the From Zero World Tour. Chester's work with his friends will always be special. I'm just so glad that the rest of them are still here and enjoying themselves. I'm sure that Chester would have wanted that for them.

This is one of my favorite songs on the album. The beauty of the atmosphere in it goes so well with Emily's beautiful melodic vocals and Mike's serene singing. You can hear that she really pushes her cleans to the brink here to the point of a bit of grit creeping in but never taking over, and it sounds incredible. Love this album. It's a solid 9/10 for me.

I heard it first time and felt the emotions. I know the feeling of depression. But there is a real message being given here. Mike singing the line “believed it myself when I halfway apologized.” How the song bridges the gap from 7 years ago. The line in the song “sorry for now” where he says “I only halfway apologised.” I find it no coincidence. It hit me as soon as I heard him sing it. I’m not one to speculate but I think there is some unspoken truth that Mike can’t really bear to speak out loud except through music. so much pain in the song and Emily killed it and is making Chester proud.

My dad passed away the Monday after From Zero was released, and this album has been a lifeline for me as I navigate the grief. I never got the chance to say goodbye to him. He called me that Friday, but I was battling a bad cold and had lost my voice. I couldn’t reply much-I just listened. He told me how much pain he was in, and I can still hear his voice so clearly. It breaks my heart that he’s gone. He was only 66 years old, and it still feels so surreal. This song has become a part of my healing process. I’ve played it more times than I can count, and every single time, it hits me just as hard as the first. It’s like a reminder of him and everything I wish I could’ve said.

And that's why Emily is such a blessing for the band. With Chester's death, so much potential died. Because the band couldn't carry on. NOW they can do it again! And I'm so grateful for that.
