About 10 years or so ago, on American Idol, Simon Cowell scolded a contestant for choosing this song to do. "By picking Whitney Houston", he said, "You're saying that you are as big as she is." I disagree. WH has a powerful voice and very few singers can emulate her. Daria. your performance was excellent. I didn't notice any place where the pitch was wrong or your voice gave out. Instead, you honored a great singer. Thanks.

@@Paul_Carver Somebody in the music industry will have to take an interest, offer her a contract, produce her music, promote it, then the public will have to buy it. It is a tough world out there and having talent is the first step. That is under the artist's control. The rest isn't. That is why many great artists in every field never make it. I'll keep my fingers crossed that she will. Her views are very low though, and I know views make a big difference because the people looking for talent are probably screening by hundreds of thousands and up.

@@Paul_Carver I'll tell you what she needs to do. She has to hook up with someone or some thing that has a big following. New acts would start in small clubs and work up to bigger and bigger ones. They might be the opening act and warm up the crowd for the big act. They might get an average Joe manager, then dump him for a bigger name manager with more power. Acts that were going somewhere were always looking to get the next step up the ladder and would do anything to get there. Women sleeping with these people to get where they wanted to go was common knowledge. Today, she needs to do KZbin interviews, get liked by some famous singers and bands, and be promoted and shared by people who can make a difference. Almost anyone with a big KZbin following would boost her up. Being LIKED by Mr. Beast with his 100 million subs would be huge, but he does not do that kind of thing. Maybe she should contact those people who put out videos of the Top 10 current singers in an attempt to get in their content! People who get on TV are boosted by the large audience and recommendations of say Ellen DeGeneres or Kelly Clarkson. It isn't all about having music out there. People may not know it exists. She needs someone constantly promoting her and moving her up rungs on the ladder. I do not feel she is getting that. If she was, she would not be dead in the water. She has talent and there are people with less who are further along or are already big time artists. Hey, you could be her manager if you have a vision and the energy to do it.

I remember when The Bodyguard came out, saw it ... Watched the music video debut... Daria, you took me all the way back. Even further, to when I first heard Dolly Parton sing it.
