I will call you (The Sisters of Mercy-cover)

Written by Andrew Eldritch, Ben Christo and Dylan Smith.
The Sisters of mercy performed I will call you live for the first time on march 8th 2020.
No official lyrics are available but this thread help me a lot to get something to sing. www.myheartlan... . I have listened to most liverecordings of I will call you but I have never ever heard what Andrew sings on the bridge between the So do I-lines so I just did some aaaaaaaaaaaaah. I might record a new version if the lyrics will be available.
I didn't plan to release I will call you as my next Sisters-related cover but when I got my guitar back from service I got so excited I recorded the song during two weekends in a row.
Drums are Toontrack's EZdrummer and my new favorite EZX (expansion-pack) Synthwave.
Bass is a synthbass dubbed by my electric Gibson Les Paul.
Ben's guitarmelody is played by two guitars and also a keyboard in the background.
Dylan's rhythm guitars are dubbed through the whole song and for the choruses I also downtuned the guitar one half-step and recorded two more guitars to get some heavy free strings going on.
The leadvocals on the verses are dubbed and on the choruses I added a third lead along with two backing vocals.
When all instruments were recorded I exported some of them into a rough mix and then imported it again for the part before the second verse. I distorted it and added some pan-action.

I can't stop clicking on this! Its so powerful , the way the crunchy rhythm pops in & out with deep, haunting vocals. Ok..if I had to buy this song from either sisters of mercy, or this guy. I'd buy the cover. All coming from a huge sisters fan. Though, I don't care for Andrews vocal delievery style these days. I honestly don't feel that he could top this version. His live version is barely avg.

I bought a new drumkit some months ago, EZX Synthwave, that I have used here and on Susanne. The guitar have new strings here, is newly intonated and the mics are also adjusted. Otherwise it's the same equipment 😀 i often change guitarstrings only when i play so hard they break, i forget that it helps to change all strings every now and then 😄😂

Creating the lost SoM album we crave- thank you! Honestly, after the most recent show I saw, these songs you create might be better than what Andy and Co. could release. His voice is not strong these days. Heck, with his devious recording/releasing history I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes all these recordings and releases them himself… who would win that legal battle? It’s your work and performance, but his material… You’d certainly have to be paid.

:) I don't think Andy would take my recordings. I think Andy still have the voice to make great recordings of the songs they have written after Dylan joined the band since all the vocal melodies moves in the same areas so to speak. also songs like Susanne and Summer.

Really, great work for all SOM songs you recreated! What about trying to make the same with a Joy Division song with no studio version (with original Ian Curtis voice) such as Ceremony ...for this song the only studio version is with Bernard Sumner as singer, not even near original Ian voice, ..and i think you could make better :)

The Ronettes? Are you kidding? Keep listening there is a lot more to learn then you can make accurate comparisons. This singer plays and sings nothing like The Ronettes. Mr Forsnet plays in homage of an English rock group called the Sisters of Mercy. Start listening to all of their work then you will hear that the comparison to the Ronettes is not accurate
