This match just demonstrates what many suspected during spoilers--Gix is an absolute menace in EDH, both through allowing you to draw a ton of cards, but also through incentivizing others not to attack you. This deck wasn't even built to take advantage of that ability, such as through zombie flood synergy in an aristocrats shell.

Couldn't CGB just wait for Shae to declares blocks, and create a token of portable hole with urza and exile the token, so no damage is done, but gix is still block, leaving no possibility to be kill by extorting twice?

The token chameleon actually has a mana value of 4, and cannot be targeted by Portable Hole. The Astartes token could only have went to Shae by sacrificing the Portable Hole and giving her back the Gilded Drake, so Portable Hole cannot be copied by that point. The only thing CGB could've done is what he did: giving back the drake and hope Shae would block in a way that lets Gix live.

18:30 with Gix, just like Etali, the player needs to decide which spells they wish to cast and cast them all at once. So Blake wouldn't be able to draw cards from Guardian Project here.

@@mk24789 the only restriction that CR imposes is that you can never play a land when it is not your turn. Special rules allow you to play lands when the stack is not empty as long as it is your turn. Gix has the same phrasing as Brilliant Ultimatum, which has better ruling attached

Technically he could still draw from guardian project, if he stacks the spells correctly. Cast 2 creatures first, then the project. Project resolves first, then the creatures.
