Yuta came back from work and heard that: - his mentor who saved him from being executed has been sealed. - the guy who he thought had killed a year ago is "back" and caused a shit ton of chaos across the country. - his friend got his arm cut off while the Jujutsu equivalent of the Devil himself was rampaging through Shibuya and his other friend got burnt to near death by a Special Grade curse. Logically speaking, he has all the right to be pissed off, and that's what the higher ups are assuming. spoiler He's faking it. He's trying to get trust from the Elders and they forced him to perform a Binding Vow to kill Yuji in case he tries to do anything funny. What they didn't know is that Yuta at this point had already mastered RCT to a point where he's able to heal others faster than Shoko can. He did end up killing Yuji and fulfilled his part of the Binding Vow, and did it in front of another high ranking sorcerer no less, but he also healed him at the same time before his death became permanent (sort of like how Sukuna revived him, but at a smaller scale). After that he became Yuji's protector in place of Gojo and teamed up with Maki, Choso, Yuki, Megumi, Hakari, Higuruma, Takaba, Hana and Tengen to unseal Gojo and get Tsumiki out of the Culling Games.

That still makes no sense, his priority should still be to rescue Gojo at all costs, and why would he be ok with the elders acusing gojo of being a traitor, he either believe gojo is a traitor, or he don't care, both of which makes no sense, gojo was the one who saved him in the first place. And about Yuji, Yuta was nowhere when toge got his arm cut off, and apparently maki was only almost burnt to a crisp, yuji was out there fighting, he fought Choso, Jogo(while being possessed by sukuna, but still, he ended up being the one responsible for dealing with jogo when no one else could) AND mahito. Yuta should NOT be so quick to decide what he feels about yuji when he don't know what exactly happened there. and finally, wasn't Yuki also there in the end? why didn't she say anything? if i'm not mistaken, her and yuta are the last special graded sorcerers left, with gojo sealed and getou trying to destroy the world, so if both of them decide what to do together, the elders wouldn't be so stupid to interfere, right? it already makes no sense portraying Gojo as a traitor when he could singlehandedly have ended humanity by himself if he wanted.
