What I love about that final gesture Itachi made towards Sasuke was that it showed how Itachi finally acknowledged Sasuke as an equal and an adult. Instead of flicking his forehead like he always used to, pushing him away, he instead brought Sasuke close and put their foreheads together as he poured his heart out to his brother at last after hiding things for so long.

I always loved Itcahi. Even back in OG Naruto, I loved him, he was and still is my favorite guy from this series. I was sad when he died at first, but I knew it was coming so it didn't upset me that much. And I definitely didn't cry to it. But this episode, man, it broke my heart. To this day, this series is the only one to make me cry. And it all started with this episode. Itachi is a god among men. I don't care if he doesn't think he is deserving of being called perfect, because to me, he is the perfect person. He is kind, smart, strong and beautiful inside and out. Even if he had told Sasuke everything, there is no guarantee that Sasuke would have been able to stop their clan peacefully. And he would have tipped his hand to the whole clan, letting them know that he knew about their coup. That may have had his entire clan come after him. He did the best he could in his situation and its not his fault that things were out of his control and didn't work out. Sorry, this episode really is a gut punch, huh? I'm sure that there was a way to try to settle things without bloodshed. But Danzo would never have allowed for it because he wanted the Uchiha dead. He wanted their eyes, their power. And the only way he could get away with taking them, was if the Uchiha were all dead.

Danzo: "Save your little brother before the revolt." Also Danzo: Send Sai to assassinate Sasuke at the very beginning of Shippuuden. Yeah, he was never gonna honour that agreement from his end from the start. He's only using Sasuke to manipulate Itachi into committing genocide for the sake of the village.

Because Sasuke had becomes rogue shinobi by joining Orochimaru's side who tried to destroy the leaf and killed the 3rd. The information that Sasuke's hold was cannot be taken by the enemy of the leaf. at that point, the promise or agreement with Itachi has broken. for Danzo, the leaf is always no.1 in mind

Danzo was gonna turn on Hanzo as well, had Pain not intervened and killed him, plus Danzo doesn’t like loose ends. Furthermore with that arm of his, he was gonna use Naruto for his dirty work just like Itachi. Why do you think he and Naruto never crossed paths? With all those Sharingan, as well as the first hokage’s cells, Kurama would’ve sniffed him out a mile away.

We often talk about how Kakashi lost a lot, along with people like Tsunade, Hiruzen, Obito, Madara, Sasuke, and even Naruto in a way, but Itachi? He really got the short end of the stick in all this. I still cry whenever I hear his final words, reflecting on all that's unfair about his situation and how he had to live for years with a blood guilt forced upon him, gets killed by his own brother who he loved so dearly, then gets brought back to life against his will, then leaves for good with a heartwrenching line and practically helping to save the world in the process. Just... damn.

I don’t care what anyone says, this top 3 saddest scenes not in just anime but in anything I have ever seen in my entire life. When you remember all he went through, how he wanted to be looked as a bad guy and accepted hate instead of love, them showing the scene with his parents, his speech afterwards and the nail in the coffin “I will love you always”. I swear there isn’t a better way to go out than to tell someone you care “I will love you no matter what”. I will be honest, many scenes in Naruto are very very sad the first time you watch them or even the second time but some scenes you can watch every time and feel emotional, this is one of them... If I ever wanted to be like someone in an anime is easily Itachi. Because my whole life I go about being humble and trying to not be arrogant, people can asume what they want about me but only I know who I am. I love everything about Itachi, he is my favorite character ever... I know he isn’t real but man I love you TOO, thank you for everything,!!!!!
