Well deserved reputation when people have lost their lives in the back of an ambulance because a truck fails to get you from A to B... but I agree, some of these trucks can run forever. But obviously had its major issues or its reputation would’ve never came to what it is...

All the guys that has something negative to say about the 6.0 is the young BOYS with big programmers and huge exhaust tips. And think it’s cool to roll coal everywhere you go and expect the truck to “last”. I can say that because I was that guy at one point. I gave it up after spending THOUSANDS of dollars on mine. A diesel is like a woman, treat with some tinder love and care and she’ll last forever.

LOUD 'N' PROUD how much money are you going to spend rebuilding the front end, frame, transmission, and dash on a dodge? Dodge ram trucks just don't hold up. They fall apart. The cummins is a better engine, but the ford is a better truck in general.

I'm a little confused your dad was talking about the fuel mileage and said that it was when running in 4x4 in the snow then ya'll stopped and pulled out a van but he couldn't/didn't lock the hubs. My question is why ya'll where running in 4x4 without the hubs locked because without them locked in your not running in 4x4 so why even put it in 4x4?
@LOUDNPROUD7 жыл бұрын
PLAYNDMUD OUTDOORS yes he was in 4x4 high.... because the highway was seriously 4”-6” deep snow with no visible lanes for 7 hours...
@1776-2A7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply and love the videos but he wasn't in 4x4 if he didn't have the hubs locked that's what engages the front wheels to turn without the hubs locked in your still in 2 wheel drive only time you would be in 4x4 is if you had auto hubs wich don't require manualy locking the hubs
@joshansin307 жыл бұрын
they have auto locking hubs.
@rosseldridge63957 жыл бұрын
Unless they had them installed they are manual. All Superduty fords have manual locking hubs.
@1776-2A7 жыл бұрын
If that's the case then it wouldn't help to engage the 4x4 because without the hubs locked it would still just be in 2x4

This is coming from a strictly Cummins/duramax owner I’ve had 12 valves 24’s, lly’s lbz’s and an lb7, that being said I like the 6.0 if it’s built correctly, otherwise it’s a headache and a half the 6.4 is absolutely awful the 6.7 is by far the best and the 7.3 is the best older diesel you have to pick and choose not every one is terrible not every one is amazing

@lucasspeaks55146 жыл бұрын
I'll tell you why one of the main reasons why the 6.0 got the worst name. people owned the 7.3 in the 90s, was a great motor. then the 6.0 came out with all of the emissions stuff and people thought they didn't have to do maintaince which is false. Abused the he'll out of them. Put tuners on them, Ragged the shit out of them, and never did anything to them. The 6.0 is in many school buses and do just fine. little issues
@LOUDNPROUD6 жыл бұрын
lucas speaks no... they got the reputation because they put the engines in Medical ambulances and trucks that needed to be reliable. And engines were failing and blowing heads with people ending up dead in the back seat because they couldn’t make it to the hospital in time.... So when trucks are causing lives because they are unreliable, that’s an issue. Which then got Ford into lawsuits and everything else because of those major life threatening issues. So the reputation isn’t from people “not maintaining” their trucks... that’s the dumbest excuse I’ve ever heard for an engine having a bad reputation....
@LOUDNPROUD6 жыл бұрын
All that aside, I love ford vehicles. We own a few. But I despise unreliable engines. Doesn’t matter the brand. I love the good ones, hate the bad ones.
@chefboyardi65975 жыл бұрын
You can use the ambulance argument for the 6.0 but let’s not beat around the bush and act like if it was a dodge that they wouldn’t have major reliability issues either. Yeah a blown motor won’t get you to the hospital but neither will a blown up trans or broken axles so. Pick your poison
@mattstoner24247 жыл бұрын
They ell parts if you don't know whats going on with your truck why would some guy that sells parts thats never seen your truck. If you see trans fluid on the ground you have a leak don't think you need autozone to tell you that

The thing with 6.0 power strokes is as long as you don't beat it up and keep it taken care of, they are perfect trucks. But being that this one is used as a plow, that puts so much extra stress on the engine and transmission that just makes any truck break so much more often a buddy of mine has an 05 6.0 with over 320,000 miles on it and it's not bulletproofed and has no issues at all. Kind of a diamond in the rough because no one actually takes care of their vehicles for the most part. They just see it as a tool to get them from point a to point b
