I Will - TBRB Custom DLC Preview

It’s only fitting to release “I Will” in honor of Paul’s birthday, as he considers it to have one of his favorite melodies. Its bossa nova style music was influenced by the Latin American numbers the band often played in Hamburg, while the lyrics were deliberately made “very simple” after earlier drafts were discarded.
As is the case for several White Album tracks, “I Will” primarily features the contributions of only one Beatle. Paul provides acoustic guitar and vocals, including the “vocal bass” in lieu of a traditional bass guitar part. John and Ringo also appear by providing percussion. These qualities provided an interesting challenge in creating the charts and visuals for the song in the context of Rock Band. For TBOJAY, all four Beatles have a part to play as Ringo is the only person in the game to play drums. Plus, George has to play the lead guitar part.

Why isn’t George in the Dreamscape? It feels weird to not include him. He could’ve just done a “ghost guitar”

While yes in most cases we always try to include all four Beatles in a full band dreamscape, as Harmonix did before us, this song was a bit of different case. When there’s instrument parts for each Beatle to playwe always make sure to include each Beatle, but with I Will there’s just…not enough parts to go around; for most of the scape John and Paul are already playing the same rhythm part. George’s exclusion from the scape is also based off of the real recording sessions, which he did not partake. There’s been a handful of dreamscapes that only feature 1-3 Beatles in the past, and we thought given the very unique sound of the song, as well as it’s recording history, a three Beatles scape would be more than fitting.

And we have done many songs that didn’t include all four Beatles historically but do in the dreamscapes, this song is just very unique musically is all.

Bass chart is playing the lead guitar part, since what sounds like a bass part is actually done on vocals!
