Almost 10 years of solid sadness in my past brought me here. It's so weird but you're completely right. I have a good life now, but the shadow of that is always with me because it was so impactful. I don't even think I really could explain it to my partner, or my parents, or anyone I know. It was too intimate of a pain, and I never shared it except anonymously. I think these collections and the aesthetic we build around them are like a sort of therapy to help work through it where I was never able to before...I just survived it and it scarred over. When I get home in the morning it'll be great and happy, but all I have to do is cue up one of these playlists and I'm back in my studio apartment at 19 years old, waking up gasping and in tears, crying til it's 4 AM and my skull hurts. But I can't not do it. It's weird.
