I actually think it's a good thing you didn't try it earlier, you'd be very jaded and tired of it by now. The game is in the best state it has ever been and the recoil reworks have really made the game spuch less frustrating. Players can finally fight each other and not the game and the end result is fantastic. If you had to live with the previous systems you'd have had such a frustrating experience that you might have dropped it instead. Right now is the best moment to get into it, not yesterday.

Gameplay wise probably the best the game has felt in awhile, (IMO probably the best since pre-inertia) but probably the worst that it has ever been regarding cheating in escape from Tarkov. This wipe specifically has been especially hard for me to describe. Yes it is fun wipe, but God do I hate dying to cheater after cheater.

@@Ty_your_shoes interesting, I've barely met cheaters, it was way worse when I quit last time, when the vacuums were first appearing. It felt like all the loot on all the maps was just horrible becuase the vacuums would just take everything. But maybe in some regions it's also like that.

You don't wish to play it earlier, believe me. Before the December wipe ttk difference between fully kitted player and casual one (aside from lucky hits in the face) could be as high as 10 times, and 3 times was considered a normal thing

to be fair, it used to be better. When most people could get their hands on almost all ammo you still had a chance with a bad weapon and gear to kill a kitted player. now you only have bad ammo unless you play a sh*t ton which results in the time to kill beeing way to long if you dont get lucky and hit left armpit for example.

Hey man! First off; Welcome to Tarkov. As someone who's been playing for a bit now, I gotta say I'm happy to see someone enjoying the game the way I feel is important. Not everyone is a giga-chad streamer, winning every fight and kicking in other players' teeth. It's a lot about development- things like map knowledge, knowing what you might need for a quest, Knowing when to push, or when to back off. Those quick decisions that can make any raid a success or failure are what make this game great in my opinion. The game is incredibly compelling in that sense, the sting of the killed screen just to see that notorious (head, eyes), or the extracted screen when you see those 3+ PMC kills. I have 4.5k hours in tarkov and you joined at the very best time to play tarkov. Tarkov will take you to the highest of highs you can get out of a game. The games difficulty is what makes the rewards so high

It makes it better for literally everyone. I remember getting shot at once and, while not even moving the mouse, my character is FLAILING his gun around up and down for no reason whatsoever. Not even a Parkinson's ridden grandma would do this. It's like the guy was actively trying to fuck with the person controlling him.

Ive played for years and this is the best wipe by far, its like playing the game for the first time all over again, the feeling of flanking an enemy or outplaying a squad and the maps man, the maps are by far the best in any games today, just walk in to a room in any building stop and take a look at how much detail and story telling in every inch of the map.

I started out on console with arcade shooters like medal of honour but when hit PC i also started trying games like Rainbow 6 in 90s, Operation Flash Point etc and enjoy both arcade and sim shooters because I enjoy the different atmosphere. When as you say 1 shot could leave you sitting there for an hr twiddling your thumbs waiting for your friend's to finish the mission it makes change your style but its also not for everyone.

Actually I think you not playing earlier was a blessing this wipe is by far the best wipe for old and new players alike I was scared going into the game at first also but now I have 1500 hours about and have gotten really good at pvp . The recoil overhaul this wipe is literally game changing in the best way possible especially for new people trying to get into the game. And for people who thought the old system had wayyy to much kick (which it did) the armor plates and overhaul and even the new map. This was 100% the wipe to start tarkov on and I’m glad you did get into the game and actually sat thru the pain of beginning tarkov because many people actually get mad and quit. But man just keep watching them quest guide and tarkov videos and tip videos. Use map genie to get used to the maps and to help you learn the map and there are different websites for the ones map genie doesn’t cover (like Reddit) and you will be good at this game in no time!!

Best tip i can give you right now is Press left alt + right mouse and you can change your reticle to something you can actually aim with

I'm glad I did not play tarkov before, my friend just bought me the EoD edition just like a week before wipe 0.14 and it was the most horrible thing ever, the recoil alone was making me not want to play it, I was just pity playing it with my friend since that edition costs a lot, the whole game felt like it was being controlled in a dream and had 4 seconds of delay. But after the most recent wipe, I've become addicted and it's one of the most fun things I experienced. I love playing with my friend and solo now.

I noticed in your b-roll you keep opening your inventory to use meds. You can double click meds and foods to use them, but it's better to bind meds to a hotkey. You can also use them from your rig, pockets, and your bag(can't hotkey in bag). You don't want to be in a menu if you can help it. Left or right clicking will cancel any animation you're in, too. With some exceptions like unlocking doors or dropping your bag. As you get more experienced, losing gear becomes less of a hindrance and more of a chore to farm rouble. Until the devs grow a backbone, and force us to find everything in raid, you can more or less just buy everything you ever need. Making money is really easy. I skipped the last 2 wipes (almost a half year) and it was still easy to farm rouble, but not this easy. folk like Pestily or Airwingmarine put out a ton of guides you should use. Most of the info about this game is community sourced because the devs don''t communicate anything useful about the gameplay. (ie stats of bullets) I *_highly_* recommend you take full advantage of the guides, because I already wrote an essay here and I gotta stop at some point 😂

You might like Stalcraft then (but its grindy, mmorpg survival (based on STALKER universe)). A lot of us Planetside players moved there. (but SEA server is less alive than EU and NA). Game got 14k peak players 2-3 months in a row (and thats Just those who dont launch through game launcher).

One of my best raids this wipe was one that I died right at the end. It was pure hell and I pushed through everything. Great pvp, my teammate died, winning a 3v1 against player scavs limping my way out towards the extract only to be swarmed by a 4 man scav team and taken out after I killed two of them. My adrenaline was pumping and I loved it.

EFT isn’t really fun. It’s thrilling. Some people find haunted houses fun, others find them terrifying. It’s like that. You go through the haunted house not because it’s fun, but because it’s thrilling. EFT is punishing and unforgiving. It forces you to learn or give up. It forces you to accept failure as a default condition and to not expect victory. It crushes hope and optimism and also makes a lot of other shooter games really easy by comparison.

It's bad but not THAT bad. Don't let the negativity bias give you the impression that every raid has a cheater, I personally have played like 200 raids and the ampunt of cheaters I've ran into is probably counted on 1 hand

I just can't do these games anymore. With two small children and career I love the high that comes with extraction but the consequences are to severe to lose hours of time with no progress. Time is the only thing you can't ever replace in game or real life. I don't want to spend 2 hours looting to be erased by a simple mistake since I was thinking about something in real life and misclicked or died to a subhuman wretch called a hacker. I need a sense of progression that can't be erased by a real life event causing me to lose game focus. Make progress insanely hard but as long as it's there I can justify playing. But someone with 3k hours in DayZ the toxic trolling and progression loss is not something I can do anymore as a grown ass man with a family

I am kind of surprised you never played EFT I figured you kind of just played every once in a while or faced burnout like I did when I found your channel. I started during patch .6 and played till .11 I can say you joined at a very good time, you missed the Dsync, the piss poor recoil system, the economy isn't so broke with the flea market anymore, and no back-end errors when dropping your loot off from scav runs. I think patch .14 is the best patch since Reshalla and the gang were added.

The game is currently in the best state its ever been, after a very long decline in enjoyability and bad changes. Its great time to play, please be patient as the game is extremely unintuitive with some aspects, and make use of guides for quests, because the ingame information is absolutely not enough to compelte them.

Honestly I somewhat preferred earlier wipes if only because time to kill was a lot longer, but I have to say now’s one of the best periods to play with so many newer players joining and learning the game. Welcome brother. Been playing since 2017 and have the armband to prove it. It's gonna frustrate you but just remember its an MMO... not really but when you have a bad raid, make sure you have a way to get back out there cheaply and reliably. Barters, 'comfort kits' and reliable scav money making runs are how you'll enjoy the game and cope with the monumentally huge Losses that will come your way. edit 0-15 is absolute hell and 15-25 not much better. The game has a lot of well hidden 'teaching quests'. I'm on a standard account too btw

What tips do you have for getting into the game when I just don't have the time to memorize all the different guns, ammo, armor, inventory things, etc. I have the game but just can't bring myself to play it more than 1 or 2 times a month because of those reasons

Biggest advice is don't try to memorize it, otherwise you will get analysis paralysis. Find a combination of weapon/ammo/meds/armour that works for you and you can reliably get and stick to that. Do tasks as you go and focus on trying to get them completed. There is a gun builder/preset system for figuring out what attachments work with what but until you find one to use, you don't need to know what handrails fit what barrel. I would advise to have a map with the extractions on it open and look up task locations if not clear, but focus on your tasks and you will pick up all of the other knowledge as you pull more things out of raid.

Tarkov is DayZ distilled to it's most exciting core loop stripped of all it's running simulator tedium. An fps with consequences. Been playing since 2020 and while this wipe has been the best state it's been in in years I've enjoyed the hell out of it the whole way. There is nothing in gaming that matches the adrenaline rush you get when you find the super rare bit of loot you need to complete a task and you're desperately trying to get to the extract with it.

Cherish this feeling, tarkov excels at pulling emotions from a player in a way more comparable to survival horror or emersive sim than other shooters. But once you play enough that the game stops making you feel those emotions it loses a lot of its magic, still good but the game will never feel as good for you as it does right now.

I just can't get into extraction shooters, same with battle royales. The game that scratches the realism itch (taking it slow, working with your team, one bullet can be death) for me is Hell Let Loose. Closer to that jump right back in gameplay but more tactical.

Yeah idk man, I'm not really a fan of the random (very frequent) chance of getting domed and losing weeks of progress to some fully kitted tryhard playing 80 hours a week or cheater (neither of which anything ever gets done about, the former I'll surely get the people who are the problem crying at me about and latter one everyone agrees is unfortunate nothing gets done about). I really don't care how high the highs are. Feeling like you can't use anything good you find because you'll just lose it to some bs. I really wish it was better because the depth in terms of mechanics and things like the attachment system is insane and something I wish other games did even close to as well. And I say this as a fan of milsim games like arma.

Another game like this that a friend and I found is called Marauders. It’s a WW1 setting, but in space. You get a ship that you fly around a set area, with a main space station to raid. Gear management and looting is much the same as Tarkov, but to me the setting is truly unique. If you’re looking for more in the genre, give it a shot!

Often people think tarkov is a slow shooter. Believe me, its not. If you play slow, and someone outpaces you, you will most likely loose. I dont understand what you mean by loosing hours of progress? Tarkov is not Dayz and everything you had you can most likely buy after you lost it because you died.

If you do more Tarkov videos, please turn off film grain, or whatever the effect is, it's DESTROYING the video quality, youtube's bitrate is struggling.
