#AAAnglers This came at a great time. I just got in my first umbrella rig and swim jigs. Ordered the Yumbrella, can't wait to get out there, I'm in Michigan also.

I have not yet ... I am intimidated by it honestly.... BUT I think I would use one when I fish in upper Wisconsin.

For waterproof storage, use a dremil and use the dividers you have as a template and cut the dividers from the waterproof box.

i've used umbrellas rigs and such but in maryland the rig is limited to 2 hooks so at best people troll with a umbrella rig with a longer hooked jig in the middle to catch striped bass in the bay.

Love throwing the A-Rig for a while, but it wears me out pretty quick! Thanks for some good information my friend. As always, nice video!

If you need a cheaper organization tool, you can take the perforated safety ring out from under any soda bottle lid. These work while tied onto the rod too. Just slide it from the tip of the rod all the way down to the arms and voila! Can’t take credit for that; Edwin Evers showed me this trick.

I like the mini finesse a rig. Put some natural color crappie baits on there and watch the bass smash it

Heavier weight on the bottom, and or dummy baits up top will always keel the bait. 99 % of the time predators will attack the lower or rear bait

Maine allows only 1 hook.. dont kno how well that would work... ?

People fish tge A rig on a heavy stick and a shimano curado 200 all the time, the curado onky has like maybe 12lbs of drag lol. Most and even me fish them on 20lb mono, copolymer and or flouro. Dont know to many that use braid to leader but none thatusd 65lb braid leader lol maybe 50lb but most ive talked to its fluoro only. Braid 40lb to a 20lb leader
@aaanglers10 ай бұрын
Yeah, just everyone in Alabama/south we talked to and Tactical Bassin. Like I said, maybe down south in heavy cover. I ran it on 50lb with a leader. If you are already spooled with braid, your not changing it out

And, once again, your saying I’m not wrong, but you are RIGHTer… classic Blind eye 😂

@@aaanglers actually I didn't lol the ones that run braid to leader are you and one other northern guy I talked to lol. We don't here use a 20 to 25lb flyoro and deep water fish them more than near any shallow cover. Most like the shimano curado k now will probably be the curado m 200 with only 12lbs of drag lol. There is some that use a lews super duty which has the higher drah system I know of. I went through the same questions as many do to see what people preferred as I built a new combo for A rigs in hopes my rig would also double as a swimbait rig and it does. You don't need the heavier drag when you fish the rig in deeper open water like most here do on lakes lol. I don't fish big lakes much but also don't fish a A rig in under 10" of water, where the thick stuff to hang it up is. There's better lures and techniques imo for those areas. And yes I use A rigs, bait balls often to stripe fish, a much larger and way more of a fighting fish than a largie lol. My setup is a extra heavy moderate tfo elite rod and a curado 200k in a 6 ratio (about 26/27" per turn) that's a ideal universal A rig and mid range swimbait (weight) setup.

With all of that hardware visible, do you really think the fish are line shy? I would think maybe straight 50lb braid so you could straighten a hook if it gets snagged. Whatta ya think?
