In Circuit Tracks you can program the macros (through Components software) to match the labels, or you can make a cheat sheet with the macros that you have programmed to your liking. What I miss the most, and I agree with you on that, is that, instead of having two MIDI dedicated channels, it had another sample channel + one more synthesizer channel so, as you say, not to lose portability by forcing you to connect other devices and dispose of more power to have fun. But this is something that Novation has well calculated, and it is why they sell you separate machines. They must be careful not to offer you a very complete machine because, otherwise, they would not be able to continue selling you more plastic. I like your sincerity when evaluating these gadgets.
