It's not hard, LA is an urban planning hellscape (I lived there, lol) I don't know if people pick up on this, but a lot of OTV&F are positive about density and public transport, it's kind of heart warming, but it's completely understandable. If you walk by the side of the street in LA, people think you're crazy or destitute.

@@lizardman1303 zoning is one of the primary causes of American city hellscapes. most of American uban centers are zoned for something residential, commercial and industrial zoning. these make it illegal to have homes and jobs in the same location. worse is the single family zoning laws which makes it illegal to build anything other than a steriotypical suburb, they often exist in the dead center of cities. while the basic concept of zoing makes sense, in practice they have utterly failed. Zoning laws have not even don an adequate job of protecting people from industrial waste and pollution, as the pollution spill from industrial centers is often a dozen miles in size. also holy shit is this comment "the issue is in other countries governments have so much more power . In the USA people have rights" laced with a a lot of prejudice and ignorance. if Americans had so many more properties rights than other countries, then why did America tear down so many black and Mexican neighborhoods when building highways? why do native American still to this day get kicked off their land for shit like oil pipelines? why do so many poor white Americans live in one of the most blatant predatory systems ever created in trailer parks?
