I just purchased a 10 inch butterfly Kohaku. I believe it’s markings will also make it a champ. Just no idea in Myrtle Beach where there are competitions . But I LOVE him. A great addition to the rest. I love the pond island !! Thanx for that , I’ll put one in for sure.

Trying to help a young man get into the hobby, first thing I did is give him my book that shows most aquarium fish and told him to find something he likes and we would go from there with tank size and weather the water he has at his house would be good for the fish! Took him to LFS and he didn’t know where to look first.

I wish I could have a koi pond, they aren’t allowed where I live in australia because I’m near the Murray river and carp are a huge problem with our river and have caused loads of damage to other fish and wildlife in the river, so I u derstand why ppl aren’t allowed them, but it’s still frustrating 😂

@@HaYNFishKeeper yeah not a problem up northern australia I don’t think because of the crocs I guess, but down in the south the carp have no predators, I think that the gov was looking into a carp herpes style virus that would kill them, but I don’t think anything ever came from it, so maybe they were worried about some of the native fish being susceptible also 🤷‍♂️😞 or maybe the death of so many fish at once would have just been like having all ur fish die in a tank and the potential for ammonia spikes would have done too much damage 🤷‍♂️🤔
