thank you to Speed5 for sponsoring this video! 😇
this is the story of how i, against all odds, BARELY won a multiplayer CK3 tournament, played against other crusader kings 3 content creators in a tournament in Speed5!
Speed5 is a brand new competitive grand strategy E-Sports league, started in collaboration with Paradox Interactive & making big scale, competitve mp events in our favorite map painting games- including Hearts of Iron 4, Europa Universalis 4, and more!
unlike EU4 or HOI4 however, in Crusader Kings 3 there's a fair amount more political maneuvering and interpersonal intrigue you have to navigate in order to be successful. and this is what caused me to get so close to victory so many times, and for the end result to be... up in the air. close enough even to make everyone, including me, assume I had LOST.
anyways, i hope y'all enjoy this video! it took a lot of work between me and the amazingly talented person who edited it ‪@LongGameShort‬ !

@@TheAgamidaex you could also do the following Play as a female christian nubian character (the nubians have a tradition that lets them have female preference laws) use the pope as a piggy bank (at least for the begining) dont get married, its pretty much a bastard only run, you can seduce the kings of other nations, you expose your relationship with him before the baby is born, legitimize the baby, that way the baby will be in the kings sucession line but will be of your dynasty. Since your sucession laws are different and you are not getting married you can legitimise only one daughter who will become your player heir instead of your sons. That way there is quite a bit of chance getting your dynasty on the throne with the power of love For extra power do that in iberia where not only there is many kingdoms there is also various unique desision kingdoms (toledo, portugal, caneries, aragon if playing before 1066) the struggle clash CB helps a lot with expantion and north africa is also close by A bit of intrigue, seduction and warring later should give you a fair quantity of dynasty members in foreign thrones (TOP TIP! Hybridise the nubian culture with and iberian one and make sure to have iberian heritage so you arent classified as an interloper in the struggle)

Idea for a CK Event: 3 team games, where 1 team member is in a higher position and the other 2 are vassals. Of course being able to swap between who rules is allowed, it’d be a cool idea since in team based Mp session I’ve had with friends, we don’t really use Vassaliziation on each other, which honestly is really nice feature nonetheless

@VonBlade
@VonBlade Жыл бұрын
I went from EU to CK and I'd say that, like HOI, the basics are all the same. It's not a massive learning curve at all. It's just a mindset that instead of a country you're playing as a person and also a country. Also no need for boats.
@male272
@male272 Жыл бұрын
@@VonBlade That's sort of ironic...my EU4 play style is to build up to Age of Absolutism through Trade domination and Naval force, extending outwards from the trade value territories I take initially after getting the Admin efficiency bonus from the Absolutism. CK3 seems to have all the 'Machiavellian' mechanics I wish I could apply to EU4 diplomacy. Thanks for the info!

I don't know about calling it a competitive grand strategy but I love the fact this is a thing. I hope game devs start trying to build in mechanics to grand strategy so it's easy to meet up with like-minded people in order to play these kinds of games. My issue is that my friends generally only play one or two grand strat games a year. When everyone actually agrees to play a game it's like Christmas.
