@DanEBoyd

I think I'd just use the existing grill - it should straighten out once it's unbolted from the hood. Maybe a little Super Glue and argent paint if anything... I don't think $2500 is very far out of line - maybe looking at it as a wholesaler it is, but I think you can probably sell that baby for $3000 or better pretty easily. I'd definitely replace that top rad hose now though. That could end up biting you on a long trip...

Being an old timer at 70 years old, I really enjoy seeing you save the Seville. It is indeed a beautiful car for its era and even today. As Randy would say, I would drive the hell out of it. It reminds me of the tapped out 1977 Chrysler Cordova that I owned that was white on white. It had an upgraded leather padded half lanbow top.

Cadillacs of the 80's and 90's had self diagnostic capabilities. Depress the Off and red Warmer buttons on the air conditioning control head and the current codes will display in the message center. You can also clear the codes by using the control head.

We had the exact same problem with our 1990 Eldorado (with the exact same engine) - the thermostat stuck open, giving no heat in winter. A neat tip: If you hold the OFF and WARM buttons simultaneously, the driver information display goes into diagnostic mode, allowing you to see all kinds of neat information.

I have moved into many rental houses like that and fixed them up little bit by bit and made them into perfectly livable and comfortable houses. Hey Randy, I enjoy your videos the most while you guys are in Indiana. It's very touching how you take so much pride in that house. I was the same way with my Grandma's house in Detroit Michigan. What looks like an old run down house to others, means the world to people like us that hold onto the sentimental values that nobody else could ever understand. Keep doing what your doing and love that old house because it's a part of who you are. You seem very happy when your there in Indiana.

I'm from the UK and I had one the exact same colour with the phaeton burgandy roof also. Mine was a 4.9L and I had it from 2003-2014 and it was a lovely car. My interior was all burgandy, the same colour as the dash in this one. I was told by a cadillac expert to make sure the temperature NEVER went above 224 as it would destroy the engine, so I always watched the temperature. It was my favourite car and I wish I still had it. The reaction it got from people was mixed-they either loved it or hated it.

@@randomhero111391 I never understood why Cadillac used their clients as guinea pigs on the engine designs. Cadillac knew the 4.1L engine was bad which was proven by the fact that they never used that engine in the commercial chassis'. When the car had to drive for a long time they used a different engine. My father bought a 1995 Cadillac STS and he never had a problem with it. Maybe he got lucky.

Great content as always!!!! A couple of takeaways, suggestions. First you have diagnostic capability with the climate control. Off and high simultaneously. Probably have to google the flow charts. Have always used Vaseline on o rings for thermostats. The CJ is cool AF! It has that Jeep “death wobble”. Short wheel base, big tires, poor steering dampening and alignment concerns. Your Uncle’s house has character! Live in one similar myself that was my Grand parents. There’s just an aurora, tranquility in these places we visited growing up. Merry Christmas and safe travels.

randy these caddy's have a built in code reader check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes stored in the computer, turn the ignition on, then hold down the OFF and WARMER (for digital dash) or OFF and passenger-WARMER buttons (for analog dash) or OFF and "Info ^" buttons (if you have temperature dials) until all of the dash lights come on. The digital display will then show any codes stored. Be prepared to write them down. When it's done, you will probably see "PCM?" At that point, press the OFF button 3 or 4 times until the dash goes back to normal, or just turn off the ignition.
