This current Arsenal side is all I have ever dreamed of for 20 years. I genuinely could not be happier with the club at the moment. We need to look at Klopp's Liverpool and appreciate how many finals and 2nd places finishes they had to go through to get their UCL and Premier league title in the end. Guess we'll be made to wait and see if it is fair play to them. After all if proven guilty of the charges against them, then it definitely wasn't fair (consider the depth they enjoy from all that spending, whereas an injury or two in certain areas would greatly hamper us) and I don't like to see cheats prosper (I'm not calling them cheats yet, however it seems unlikely they'd be squeaky clean with 115 charges while Everton and Nottingham are guilty with much less, that'd be a monumental stuff up by more than just one person investigating). Very convenient that of all the clubs being charged they are the only one to not be processed yet, and they have the bigger claim against them than Everton did or Nottingham. If the league decided to process even a small block of those charges (like 10 of the 115) could they have had points deducted already affecting this seasons results? They had better hand this season's trophy straight over to us if even one charge sticks!🤔

The barter years we had infecting the fans, the club like a nasty cancer was the worst years I had as fan. To turn that around and feeling exciting buying ticket again was worth it, especially counting personal messed like the pandemic really shine a light to me. So to again answer your question, yes the journey is worth it. Winning anything major would be a great bonus in my life story as a fan but the journey has a special place in my heart.

Absolutely agree. My philosophy is to judge our club's trajectory the same way we judge ourselves in our own work/business. How many of us are 'top of the league' in our skill sets? Don't we celebrate even small improvements in salary or milestones in our lives or that of our kids? So why do we hypocritically get angry if Arsenal don't actually win the league, ignoring the many areas of improvement? This season has been an amazing success. Period.

Despite the way it looks like this season is going to end up, I genuinely believe that we'll win the title at least once in the next 3 years, even if Pep stays that whole time. Arteta gives me that faith; as you say it's legitimately astonishing that we've managed to get someone who appears to be a generational manager so soon after Wenger. And what's more, he 100% *gets* Arsenal and cares deeply about getting Arsenal back to the top; it's not just another job for him. Pure fact is that we are competing against one of most dominant teams in history... that's not a great consolation prize but we are doing incredibly well with all things considered and are in such a brilliant position to kick on and continue to improve. We have age on our side, we have funds on our side, we are beginning to build mentally and our young potential players are beginning to gain that experience that separates young future prospects from legitimate class. I'm looking forward to where we head in the future and am proud of how much we've achieved with all things considered, we're ahead of what we all could've expected, and yes it's disappointing to see us with a chance and not take it... but god damn, it's crazy to think how quickly we got ourselves to a position where we HAVE a chance... now we continue to build whilst others fade away. Alex, I've supported Arsenal since you were in nappies and I agree completely. I've enjoyed the title wins and trophies from '89 to '04 and revelled in the glory of the Invincibles, yet all I've wanted all these long hard years since then is to see the Gunners back in the PL conversation - and now here we are, so how can I complain!? This is the best we've played in 20 years, and we're outperforming the level of the squad IMO, so am I sad that we didn't win the league last season, and will I be if we don't do it this year? Well yes, a little bit, but that feeling is completely outweighed by my delight at just seeing the team playing so well and the club having a clear direction - let's remember that we're up against a superhuman manager and his superhuman squad here - and as you say, things are only set to keep improving as long as Mikel remains at the helm!

If I’m not mistaken, we’ve won 16 in 18 on this current run. If we don’t win the league on that form, I can’t even be upset. Arsenal hit its snag with back to back losses after Christmas. That would have “cost” us the league, not the Villa result because that would have been a mouthwatering 17 in 18 to this stage of the season. But 2nd on a possible 89 which could win you the league in a different season.. just can’t be mad at that.

I had a conversation with a colleague who is a Man City fan and the best thing I realised is that with only two games to go and we still have a shot at it, still in the running. Man City under Pep are just a juggernaut, so for the Gunners to still be in the title conversation is where we want to be, not mid table, not fighting for champions league qualification, in the title conversation. I agree with you that we should live in the moment and enjoy it, and I agree that there is a bright future ahead. But I’ll bring back 2007-08, when I felt we had a good squad moving forward but an injury brought us down. Some things in life cannot be controlled and opportunities like this cannot be missed, if not all we are left are to remember those near misses. Yes the fate is not in our hands, but a missed opportunity still disappoints. It’s like getting 5 numbers right and 1 wrong in lottery, it’s so close, but it’s not it. I’m hopeful and proud! But it’ll be great to have something to show for!

Maybe when Wenger finished second in his first half season at the club. I was buzzing after watching a young Viera that year. Similar to Rice this year. This club is back at the big tabel. Supporters just want to end their day go to a stadium a cheer for their team that have a connection with, and watch them play the sport in a positive way. Oh no, we've pushed the best team in the world for 2 seasons in a row and got even closer this season. What an awful time to support this club. Obviously I'd rather win the league every single year but that's not feasible, the amount of progress we've made under Arteta is incredible and if we carry on doing what we are then we will win it sooner rather than later. It's the best we've looked in years, the players are all playing for each other and the badge and the core of the squad all have their prime ahead of them, Mikel was a special player for the club as a player and captain but his time as head coach/manager is overshadowing that and the future is looking good

We would have won the league this season if Arteta trusted some of the backups. Many of the players were clearly fatigued by late March. We need about 4 top class players and a goal keeper than Raya to become unstoppable. I believe this is achievable because Arteta has shown that he learns from his mistakes. COYG
