I think they were very short in allocation and they want to make sure everyone got who pre order got one ETB. I have zero affiliation with them. I just never had a negative situation dealing with them

Hobbies has had their share of issues too along with other stores. Overall the Prismatic release has just been disastrous overall. Kanzen appears to be trying to make things right as across as many people as possible with transparency. At least they’re owning the issue.

Just had a store cancel my booster bundle display preorder that I made a month and a half ago for $360. Same issue with allocations, but they said they were prioritizing fulfilling local pickup orders over those who are getting shipped. I go back on their website and they've relisted the booster bundles which were previously sold out for $85 per and not sold out. Kind of annoyed, but they said they would honor that price down the line when they receive a larger shipment, but who knows when that will happen.

I'm curious when that order was placed, as well as when it was cancelled. If they fulfilled some orders at msrp, but fully cancelled others I could imagine that they had to cancel after recieving actual allocation numbers, but wondering how long they sat on the money until cancelling.

It sucks because I've been a huge supporter of Kanzen for years now, and it was only with prismatic that they've had issues. I will give them another chance moving forward, but if it happens again, then will have to take a break from them until things cool down since their pre-order game is rough.

@ thanks. With how they’ve treated me in the past, I’m willing to give them the extra chance. I compare it to if I’ve been going to the same restaurant every day for the past 10 years and the food was amazing, and then one day I go and they had served me an undercooked burger, I’d give them the chance to make it right. I wouldn’t stop going just because they had one small mishap. If it happens again though, it’ll be recurring issue and will only then lose my patronage. 20 ETBs is a big ask when they do not get their regular sized allocation.

Nah. It’s a nothing burger statement that they came out with AFTER I called them out. Not saying they made it in response to me, but it’s weak. They oversold and got greedy. And again I would have had no issue getting my order cancelled because of slashed allocations, but I was promised that it would be fulfilled and had my money held hostage until 1/20. And again, not prioritizing the initial sales over ones made later at a higher price, and hiding the reason under the guise of fairness, is not something I will support.

it's not weird to me that just released and will be released product should be MSRP, regardless of retail or LGS. When products get discontinued then you have an argument, but MSRP doesn't exist for no reason.

Most new sets are on demand, that doesn't mean they should be more expensive. Imagine if distros just starting selling as these market prices, it would destroy the hobby, but your argument would defend it.

Confirming to you that your orders would be fulfilled after implementing the limit, and then sitting on your funds until days after release is ridiculous. As someone in Ontario who frequents these same shops online, but got my prismatic preorders fulfilled by pokemon center and walmart, it's good to hear who came through and who didn't to inform my decisions moving forward.

I agree with not supporting this shit business going forward... However I won't be supporting any LGS that is selling at market or above MSRP. When Paldea Evolved Booster boxes were 131 market value, LGS sold at MSRP, and yet when they're over MSRP they sell at higher cost. It's greedy and shady. If LGS want to sell at Market value, they should do so constantly, not just when it suits them.

I stopped supporting LGS with preorders back then with Lorcana. Got screwed over and Learned my lesson. I will never give them an interests free loan and expecting them to honor the deal. I could've used the funds elsewhere instead of having it tied up on a fake preorder. Now I have to scramble to find product and pay market.
