14:00 - You are correct. Two legendary creatures will enter the battlefield as part of resolving the spell (And then one will need to be sent to the grave as a state-based action). As such, they will have entered the battlefield (For any relevant triggerrs) and the copy that you send to the grave will also trigger any relevant effects (Like the Blood Artist in this case).

Big congrats on the win, but also kudos for this fantastic tournament report video. I know you have always preferred Blood Artist over Zulaport Cutthroat but some people have made the switch because of The One Ring specifically. Was that a consideration for you, or did you figure you could just win in the upkeep most of the time in those situations anyway?

Yup, it was a consideration when the ring got printed, and I tested it briefly, but abandoned it quickly because it was so much worse than Blood Artist. Just wait until the upkeep to combo, if you need to. Zulaport is still terrible 😣

The variance you talked about for Glimpse combo is exactly the same problem with Hypergenesis. And the cards are also similar in that when it works, it's really exciting and fun.

Hello, i've been testing a lot for the rcq season and have a couple of questions: 1.) I'm trying the 4th bowmaster instead of the 2nd endurance main (still playing 3 in the 75), do you consider it to be a good metagame call if i'm specting mostly Scam and 5C Omnath? Maybe something extra on board? 2.) I'm thinking of cutting 1 fetchland mostly to improbe a little the % of the land drops if the mana dorks usually dies, do you think a takenuma or a yavimaya would be better in that spot? 3.) What mu's do you sb in souless jailer and cotv other than rhino? I was thinking on returning 2 tz in these spots. 1. The 4th bowmaster is certainly reasonable, and is likely worse vs scam and about the same vs 4c. 2. I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking here? You’re cutting a fetch for Takenuma or Yavimaya? If that’s what you’re suggesting, I don’t think it’s a good idea. 3. CotV and Soulless jailer are for rhinos, glimpse, and living end. Chalice also comes in against breach. Thoughtseize would also be fine in for (most of these) matchups, but my preference are the two I played/recommended. Those decks have so much redundancy, thoughtseize usually doesn’t stop them for executing their game plan.

You can sacrifice the jailer to yawg before attempting to combo. It comes in vs. cascade decks. Thanks for the kind words!

Yea, that’s why I shaved down to 2. I only bring in (1) force against tron if I’m on the draw. I like force for amulet, hammer, affinity, and other saga decks.

The upside of zulaport not targeting is still not enough to play zulaport over Blood Artist. The fact that Blood Artist triggers on all of your opponent’s creatures makes it head and shoulders better than Zulaport.

Yawgmoth is a tier 1 deck though. It frequently hits top 8 in tournaments and due to its colors play a lot of good hate cards that do really well vs top tier decks. I really dont understand why you would rate it as a tier 2 deck.

1. Cutthroat is a huge downgrade from Blood Artist, as it doesn’t trigger on your opponents creatures. 2. Sacrifice the Jailer to Yawg or Grist and proceed

Hey@@tylermyung5241 , I have a sideboard guide which is in the description of every video. I would sb as it describes, and follow the matchup guidance in the extended guide. Generally 2x Boseiju and a Haywire mite are enough to contest with a leyline.

The cards are almost identical in purpose, so in most instances the ring would come in, chorus would come in. The exception would be the Murktide matchup, where I wouldn’t side in Chorus.

It amazes me that tournament allowed people to play with cards that is not the native language of the area or English. If it is allowed, then each player should have an app on the side where card text can be searched for.

Such an app exists, and is available for everyone to access. There are also judges at the event, who you can call at anytime to explain what a card does 👍🏼
