Scar not knowing how to use a compass in the first few runs and still winning baffles me

The way he won is actually very simple, he did something no one else was doing. While others were building their decks, Scar did the unthinkable and lead off with getting multiple victory tomes right out of the gate. This weakens him a bit in the long run since he has fewer cards, but it more or less ensured his victory for the first week. That said, an element of luck was also involved since he got artifacts valuable enough to get victory tomes in the first place. Theoretically the most optimal playstyle for winning decked out would be the ludicrous idea of playing the hardest difficulty without investing in your deck at all outside of cards that spawn frost embers. This is the most dangerous style possible, but it offers the greatest possible reward as all your embers would go towards getting more embers or victory tomes. That said, no one would ever play the game like this, clank and hazard would be out of control and you'd need near perfect luck and skill just to survive the onslaught.

Our derpy Scar is surprisingly good at Decked Out 2. He got back with an artifact on his 2nd run, and on his first level 2 run, he was able to turn in his artifact. He was in the top 3 frost ember earners, and handed in the most tomes. He could end up in the top 8 or maybe top 5 at the end of the game.

He is really efficient and fast. He gets in, gets the artifact, looks around for treasure and gets out. Perhaps not as high on the exploration or knows all the mechanics but he can use other hermits videos to learn about the dungeon.

The correct block is the one on which the compass flips direction while walking over it. Many of the hermits just throw the compass in the direction it's pointing. I guess the stress just makes it difficult to do right.

Scar's spontaneous, genuine, child-like delight of "Dude! The doors open!" was the perfect start to the DO2 launch. Tango has lovingly crafted an experience and Scar wholeheartedly showed up for it. All of us on Tango's stream breathed a collective sigh of relief at that moment and thought, "Yeah, Decked Out 2 is going to get the appreciation it deserves and bring the joy it was designed to share." Hypno earned the most, but Tango rewarded phase 2 shards based off how many embers each player earned in phase 1. Those ranged from 8-14 depending on the hermit. Since Scar only earned 9 shards he must have done better on average!@@mollusc3125

As I was walking trough main street whilst leaving I was hit with this feeling that I recognized the place from somewhere. Then it hit me that I "recognized" it from your videos.
