Interesting video! Hope you’re still doing well with the mindset work. These days I don’t measure my success by what I do - I always do loads- but how I feel. Has what I’ve done made me feel happy? Satisfied? That I’ve been true to myself? Also how my actions have affected others. Have I helped someone else to feel good? If the answer to any of these questions is no, then I’ll try to change what I do. I’m prone to suffering from burnout when I’m very focused on achieving goals to do specific things so now I have plans rather than goals and I try to be my own measure of success rather then relying on the opinions of others. ( I work in education, which, in common with dancing, is a profession in which you are subjected to the scrutiny of others on a regular basis, so that’s quite hard to do.) Loving the variety of your content, and your sensitive approach. As an ex-pro dancer myself, I understand the hardships and the mental challenges. You rock : keep shining!

I try to find a discovery I made about my body, maybe realizing a new muscle to use in extensions or a bad habit that I can fix to improve my dancing.

Hi Hannah, if you are on the hunt for new shoes, maybe you could set up a collab with Josephine The Pointe Shop? I think that would be a great crossover!

When you are an Achiever, when you have the Strength of Responsibility, you can often over work. I know this with myself. It’s hard to walk off stage and accept the endorphins that we got because our brains are still going “good but I need to put in more work”. It’s definitely hard to find the balance and every day can be different because sometimes it feels good to put in another session! Sometimes it feels better to go rest and recover or see friends.

I'm not a dancer but as a person that lives alone and work a full time job, I find this absolutely relatable because sometimes life and goals can be overwhelming on a weekly basis! Pacing ouselves can be really challenging sometimes but as with everything else, it's a learning process! Thank you for talking about this, I think it's really important!

So proud of you for putting in the work for your own mental health - its not easy to do alone, much less documenting the process for the world to see. Its great to see you enjoying yourself at times when you might have let that happiness slip by you - and now you know that taking a break is actually good for you instead of thinking that it will interfere with your success. Knowing it and remembering it are two different things of course, but hey, baby steps right? Keep going, you've got this :)

I learned so much from this video! Thanks!! Definitely going to try that. I know we only see things through our own perspective but I don't know enough about ballet to see your technique as anything but close to flawless so out of the fact it is quite weird to me you can even fathom some days you could be a failure with how wonderfully talented you are, it was enriching to see concrete aspects of your technique which you think need working on. I definitely can relate with the tendency to forget days have only 24 hours!!!😵💫😸😺🐾🌸🌹🌼

Thank you for the video. It was a beautiful reminder for me to to really feel what is important to me and it came down to be joyful and loving being hence keeping myself in a way that whatever I do I do it joyfully. And just an inspiration in case you have not looked at it. It looks like you are inside a lot due to training/performance so tiredness could also come at least partially from a low vitamin D level.

I only dance recreationally,but whilst I,ve loved ballet,it makes you tired like nothing else I know..and not just your body,but your brain,mind and whole mental functioning.So I just wonder if fatigue is the main reason for your low mood sometimes,and feeling of failure.Cos it's really obvious to anyone that you are a fab dancer and also lovely person.
@HannahMartinRG2 жыл бұрын
Ballet is exhausting, I can totally second that. Often it is the fatigue that has me spiralling into self doubt so I’m trying to learn better how to balance my life so I can keep the extreme tiredness away. It’s so tough though!

Hi ! Great learning video !.Its really good you are trying to hear your body its completely great . The only recommendation I give you is since you changing your routine a bit maybe try and not do it too fast cause that can kind of stress too much you body and well its can be over welming for you body and mental health .
