To think that Ibrahim Chatta is Nupe (Tapa) and he is so much enthusiastic and energetic about the progress of Yoruba Nollywood. Well, it not so much of a surprise but it is worth celebrating especially considering the continuing rise in the narratives of ethnic nationalism in Nigeria these days. The Nupe and the Yoruba have always had cordial relationships since the time of Oduduwa when intermarriage began between the two. I wish I could text lines from some Nupe songs I know through another wonderful Nupe man here but I’m not sure I will get the spellings correctly 😊😢😂😅. That wonderful Nupe man is Prof. Muhammad Yahaya Kuta of the University of Ibadan - the Magatarkada Nupe and Waziri Nupe Ibadan.
