Never had the old one but had the new 12 year and it’s so so. My local Total Wine had the 14 year organic for $93 and it did not sell at all. They dropped it down to 74 and it finally started moving so I guess I’m on the hunt for the older Deanston 12 year bottles now.

Deanston does not fail, especially the old version. Personally, I think the personality and preferences of the master distillers were different or priorities have changed. But that is ok. Whiskys that hold true to the craft of the spirit are held in the highest esteem by me and others who appreciate it. 🤗

Yeah it's so solid. Even the new bottle is wonderful!!! But this old one is special! Love them both for different reasons:)

Years ago they had much better sherry casks to work with. So many now are recycled to death.
