Wow, great video and detailed introduction!Thanks RMP!

I commented on your previous KA box video and my opinion still stands that I think for the price they should have figured out the cooling better as you clearly just showed us it helps with temps (giving you piece of mind and longevity) and hash rate. Great and simple solution with the fan RPM. Thanks for the vid.
@fullyelectric6 ай бұрын
RPM ❤ we believe you! I think all anyone was saying was the 82* target temp is an OEM manufacturer setting, however we do agree with you lower temps as always been better for efficiency and hashrate! Awesome PSA .. KA Box is need you in my life, USA

I agree that it's a good idea to keep the miners cool to minimize power draw and maximise the lifespan of the fans and the miner, I just want to point out that the differance in HW errors could be silicone lottery and not only the extra cooling. I own 3 first gen HS-box miners and from miner to miner there are sometimes a 2-3% difference in HW errors. Keep making great content 👍

Wheres the link for the cable to run the fan?
@coinology20226 ай бұрын
On all Goldshell mini box miners I remove the rear grate and place a box fan blowing across the intakes. This drops the temps down to about 78 even in my grow tent.
@LarsLarsen776 ай бұрын
I thought I was the only person heating my grow tent with a goldshell, LOL
@ronwatkins57756 ай бұрын
I broke down and bought one from a reseller after missing out both times on the Goldshell website. I definately want to get a rear-shroud kit. I think the front would be problematic with the power/ethernet and limited opening as you identified. Rear shroud makes more sense. Were you able to capture the before/after power consumption of the miner and then the miner+fan?
@ToddDesiato5 ай бұрын
I'm running my Goldshell from a 12V LFP battery, charged from solar. Works great, I don't pay for power and a little larger battery, and it will run all day and night. 400W solar is easy.
@GreaterGoodMining6 ай бұрын
I think the KA Box is awesome but I agree with you on the heat. Iceriver said the same thing to me about the KS0 Pro, that it is meant to run hot. But I see better hashrate with temps in a lower range than what they suggest. And I don't like my miners running that hot for longevity and safety!
@QcycleLife6 ай бұрын
Absolutely loving the detailed breakdown of the Goldshell KA Box Kaspa miner! Your insights are always spot-on, and the way you navigated through the specs, performance, and profitability aspects was incredibly informative. It's clear that mining KASPA could be a promising venture, especially with the unique features of the KA Box. I appreciate the balanced view on its operational costs and potential earnings, giving us a realistic expectation. Can't wait to see more content like this, especially deep dives into other ASIC miners and how they stack up against the KA Box in terms of efficiency and profitability. Keep up the fantastic work!

I haven't really ventured much into asics. I think they're cool I just like the versatility of gpu/cpu more. But they're definitely something I'm interested in messing with. Next down market Ill probably see what I can scoop,

I have a KD box 2 that has been running for almost a year now at 77-80C so I think thermally they designed pretty similar. I have had no issues with the 2 KD box 2s
@Porter3020076 ай бұрын
Great info. The side by side comparison is great. In my opinion you should always try to lower the temp on electronics - if you can do this simply by adding some airflow that's great. Goldshell does try to minimize noise on these units but they all operate at relatively high temps... Might not be an issue but it doesn't hurt to cool them down a bit.
@SquidMining6 ай бұрын
I know some of the people on the GS discord created a 3d print for these to help cool them down. I'll have to look it up and test it out to see how good it works

Seems a bit hot and hopefully these are quality tested for longevity. These are suppose to be practically plug and play, so shouldn’t need extra fans etc. I did learn my lesson for not cooling my KS0 Pro enough.

Thanks for the vid! Waiting for KA directly from Goldshell. Ordered some six pins from veteran miner. You said the fan on the back is to "extract" air, I'm assuming you have the fan directed to push air out and exhaust air, not push air in, correct? I watched to the end a couple of times. Thanks and pick me for 24 hour hashrate.

Thanks for the video, I already ordered the same one because I believed that the temperature problem could be solved. Now I know for sure that I can create and print a model and everything will be fine))

Based on your experiment, I agree with you that this unit must have suction fan/s at the perforated heat sink to draw out the heat, otherwise negative to run this by itself
@CDRBAZ-Miner6 ай бұрын
Wow man, always coming out with great info and videos that just keep me interested. I have a few lil Goldshell miners and they are always a lil hot for my liking with this Australia heat lol was going to look at getting a KA box but price is out of my range "$2600 plus postage and then import tax" as an home miner so my KSO Pro will do for now lol
@DaveTube7756 ай бұрын
my opinion on the KA Box: I think it's a great asic, especially for home or new miners, but I agree that the temps are concerning. I will have one soon and will definitely run an external exhaust fan.

How much power are you using on that fan though? Does the extra hash rate pay for that electricity? That's the real question.
@gfx20065 ай бұрын
My result with the KA Box has been opposite to yours (and consistent with Rabid Miner's findings). Every time I use any fan to cool it below 78-79C, hardware error starts to rise, and hashrate drops.
@ronaldkclai5 ай бұрын
Good catch, Panda. Would it be more realistic to do a “before and after” test of the fan for the same one single Box?
@alltrac896 ай бұрын
If had one I would remove the stock fans and blow in from the back with aux fan/s. Ideally you could power the external fans with internal headers and utilize the systems temp regulated fan control. Thanks for sharing RPM. Canada

I think it’s ridiculous that you can’t change the target temp to be lower than 82 C. My old SC-Box has a slider to set the target temp and I have mine set at 65 C. I’m not sure why goldshell hasn’t included this on all the box 2 series miners when they had it on the box 1 series

Would love one of these little boxes…if I could ever find one 😂 Frankly I’m disgusted with Goldshell’s practices. They produce a relatively tiny batch of these and sell out in minutes and then the price gets jacked way up. Not sure it’s worth it anymore at these prices. They’ll only go up from here
