Buy step down dc converter Cut your battery and take the bms circuit, set the output voltage to 4.2volt and connect to the output of the step down to the bms input, put it back to your phone Now you don't need to worry about bulging battery Search Google for more details on how to use dc step down converter, they're pretty cheap, less than a dollar for pieces

KZbin recommended me this video a while ago and it was very interesting. it laid in the back of my mind for a while. I've had Android phones just sitting there doing nothing, essentially free, for a while, but 2 days ago I decided to finally do it. The price is climbing steadily, but I can say I now hold *some* Verus. I have a Watt meter arriving to make sure its worth it beforehand, and created a spreadhseet much like you have in this video to track it. After seeing the price climb, I thought back to this video and thought "nice to see he made a quick profit!" Cheers for the vid, and all the best!

I don't remember who but there's a guy on KZbin who removed the battery from his phone and create a custom little circuit so the phone could always stay plugged in and still think it had a fully charged battery in it. This would remove all of your worry over lithium battery fires
I highly suggest on trying to run those phones batteryless. You can do that, by removing the battery bms from the battery, solder where the batter was connected a steady voltage the pack would realistically putt out, and plug the phones in with their charging port. The only reason you add voltage on the bms battery terminals is to tell the phone via the bms a battery is installed and can actually boot, while in reality, it completely runs from their charging port.
@SwanCastleCrypto2 ай бұрын
I'll have to try that, thanks
@DPain82Ай бұрын
@SwanCastleCrypto see I was going to do this year's ago using this idea. With the batteries removed you can also cool the phones better. I designed a rack that would stack the phones so I could keep it in a mini fridge. I was also going to root the phone and turn the processor up. I've even thought about just buying the motherboard and running the boards via screen and mouse.

If verus coin didn't jump 3x its value since last month, your ROI would be 6 years instead of just the two year. Also you are looking at the fact you are mining and keeping it in vera coin, instead of selling it for cash all the time. Had the jump not happened you would have been in the red.

imo the right way to calculate roi, if you're into crypto to shortcut the bankin system is to : 1- count the costs in the crypto mined (if you pay 10$ for a phone you calcultae the price from the crypto value in usd at the time of purchase) 2- same for electricity charges every month, count the cost in crypto at the time of payment; that amount of charges you withdraw from the number of coins mined during the month (could produce some minus obviously) 3-sum up all those monthly return for the year 4- divide that by initial investment to get your yearly return on investment & an idea of how long it takes to pay back the phone if you're profitable if you count in usd you are just speculating & results you get don't mean a thing as the market could make appear a losing setup as profitable & the opposite as well

It's awesome that you have fire suppression.... however, thoes will not put out a lithium ion battery fire.... suggestion a fire blanket that can be easily deployed over the top to try to suffocate the fire & or a foam spray to suffocate the fire from oxygen that fuels the fire. Now the lithium that are in these batteries are normally lithium salt & not the pure form of lithium metal. The lithium salt is water soluble, hence why fire fighters use water to fight lithium battery fires. The powder fire extinguishers have no effect on putting out lithium battery fires, which is what you have in those exploding fire suppression balls. Do what you will just figured I would throw my bit of knowledge at ya.

I find the Moto G works well and are dirt cheap if you buy broken screen models. Be careful when ordering them to make sure they are not password locked. I mine Acurast with either main app or the lite version as well as Nodle, Network 3 and Uprock. 5 are running 3 at the same time. None are left plugged in after being recharged, I'm semi retired so I am home a lot and check them often and let them run off battery. This way none get hot when not charging. My average price was $47 CAD, but that involved weeks of searching and carefully buying. So far all phones are working well. Keep the great videos coming!

I made my money back on a 10k investment in like 9 months and figured out that timeframe was only going to get worse as we moved forward with adoption. Unless you got like free power or cooling with a very northern climate it isn't worth your time nor effort to try and mine just hold coins. Look at all this work and investment put in to be seeing a net of 1200 usd and needing 2 years lols. And don't forget that's 2 years to recoup ASSUMING that asset your mining doesn't fall apart. That isn't a fixed timeframe to get your money back. All that being said quality video that was very well put together, but don't do that.. Just take the battery out, they run without it when plugged in

Or you can run them with a smart plug and an extension, make the plug turn off at 12 and back on at 8 so it stays 8hra unplugged, ( you can change the time depending on the phone)
