Sorry for the late reply, sometimes there is a small protusion attached to the caddy due to which the connection of the caddy is not proper with the mother board you can remove it. If it still persists then you can use a HDD caddy and connect to your laptop like external hard drive and save the data.

why did the car sell for scrap ? cant you sell it in another state instead?

It's a very lengthy process get the nov from this state , the. Get it tested for fitness and then register in another state. Also the money you get in selling old cars is like scrap only so it's better to use them till the end.
