Basing on RDR2 results, we can say that a CPU (in this case i5 2500K loses about 5,5% performance per year in gaming, while a GPU loses about 10% performance per year, and all this results are in "low" resolution (1080P)and medium settings so at high resolution a CPU loses less performances. L2 and L3 cache memory quantity has much to do with the newer CPU's performance. Even so, the 2500K performs darn good for what it has.
Also, to put things into perspective for when you're on a 6c/12t CPU... When you look up and see your CPU usage at 33%, that means a 4c/4t CPU would be at 100%. When you're at 66%, that's 8 threads worth. I mean, sure, things can vary overall but it's pretty close.

It seems like : Boss I5-2500k: " It's just a little work, let me handle it, you (Salaryman GPU) demand so much cash! " ( power consume - W ) --> CPU: Full Load 99-100% - 81W, GPU: Load 30-40% - 120W. Boss i5 -11400f: " Nah, It's not worrying about it, I'll take a small piece of cake, you ( salaryman GPU) can take the rest! " --> CPU: Load 40-45% - 81W, Salaryman GPU: Load 70-80% - 250W. Haha... The fact that Intel did nothing but sit on its complacent arse, counting the money for 5 of those 10yrs, whilst AMD was absent from the performance CPU sector, somewhat skews the seeming lack of progress in CPU performance over the decade.

All 2500K CPUs can hit 4.7 Ghz on air. It might not have made that much of a difference, but it probably would have added about 5 to 6 fps.
@m8x425 Жыл бұрын
No they couldn't. I had both a 2500k and 2600k that struggled to hit 4.6Ghz, and 4.5Ghz was the sweet spot for those two processors. But my original 2600k could hit 4.8GHz with relative ease, and I had my hands on a 2700k that could do 4.9GHz. Same with the i7-3770k. I put one in my bro's system that could do 4.6GHz at 1.315v, and I had a gem that could do 4.7GHz with 1.295v, and 4.8GHz with 1.35v. Had to delid that one and replace the paste with Conductonaut.

@@readylucas Yah I plan on keeping my old rig for a few more years hopefully because I like my current set up.
