I hadn’t seen the other designs for the Titan before. It’s crazy that they would have a ship where you had to crawl to get around inside.

I remember crawling through the Titan. When they enlarged it (after the SQ42 vertical slice) it was a breath of fresh air and made a ship with good stats, into something that looked the part.

I'm glad we don't have to crawl around to traverse through most ships now, but I do wish CIG would standardize how much fuel is on a small/medium/large fuel tank and then give a % bonus for various archtypes. Instead they assign whatever value they want. So we have large tanks with a value of 1.5 scu on one ship and 8 scu on another.

My first ship was an avenger back in 2013 and I totally forgot you had to crawl to get around. Many ships need work and I wish they would focus on bringing all ships to modern specs.

Been around long enough to remember the Avenger crawl. Kids today don't know how easy they got it. Definitely makes sense to have external component access points on a ship of that size too.

I do like the idea of having a ship so small/efficient you have to crawl all the way around it, as long as it gives an edge incombat/utility.

I remember needing to crawl in the Avenger along with a few other ships. I think the only one where they haven't changed the design to get rid of it is the Aurora, but it really fits the vibe of the ship there.

I remember the original avenger. It was my first pledge ship, and the first one in the game with a crawl space.

Ahhh I remember crawling in the Avenger :) It was both awkward but felt a bit real too :) I like that slight claustrophobic feel of confined spaces on a ship .. esp a combat ship where you want to use space as efficiently as possible. I think all (except luxury) small ships should have component access on the outside.

I know this was about the Avenger, but you can crawl into the Intrepid through the cargo bays. Fun stuff

The old Titan with the struts in the interior reminds me of the crawlspace in the MSR.

i do remember the low hanging ceiling causing you to crouch all the way to the pilot seat. i never looked at it when it had two seats though. thank you danny. ps, i love the eclipse but i cant c the 300 dollars for it. i also love the design of the firebird. have a good IAE

I suspect that the Eclipse was the focus for Aegis day was to encourage people to bring it in for Phase 3 against the Idris. I've got an Eclipse, a Vanguard, and a Tali all rented to take to Phase 3 in case I can't hook up with anyone I know with a Polaris. But, yeah, I'm not interested in having the Eclipse in my permanent fleet... so I absolutely snagged the cheap CCU for other chains. Very few of my ships have been bought for full price since the Kickstarter. The closest is my Mercury, which is based off my Freelancer from the Kickstarter, but when I'm crawling through the Jeffries tubes, it's so far beyond what we imagined back then that it's worth it. Plus all the extras. And I bought back my Freelancer (MIS) within the week.

I remember having to crawl around in the Titan. I think You could grab a bar up high and kick your legs through. It was very cavilier.

Before I upgraded to the Freelancer, I had my starter ship the Aurora. I don't know if it still does now but you had to crawl into the bed space back then.

A major pass on the Reliant series would have me crawling on my knees as well. But seeing the Ranger and Ghost become the Ranger II and Ghost II may foreshadow the Avenger II and the Reliant II. Yeah, remember when we were going to have a load screen to land at stations?

Retaliator all day! It can be stealthy if you switch all guns to balistic and run it with stealth components and half the components on. Its a great way to "duck" detection.

I started following the Star Citizen project back around 2019, so I really need to go back and watch some of those older videos from the days prior. Never new you had to crawl to access parts of the Avenger. As the design requirements of ships have increased over the years, I wonder if it would be better to wait on giving older ships like the Constellation, Aurora, Avenger, etc. a gold-standard pass until after all ship features have been planned and spec'd out. We now see the limitations of trying to retro-fit physicalized and moveable cargo, physicalized components, engineering, life support, and more into ships that were not designed for these features, so I worry that doing a redesign now would be yet another waste of developer resources.

You mentioned more hornets. As a buyer of the original super hornet which was “the closest to military load out available to civilians” I feel rather sour. If we keep having new ships in the same role being released that make the ships we bought at the time seem old, rather than the old ones being updated, why buy ahead of time? Where is the reward for backing early. It would be fairer to upgrade early supporters. To be honest, I would now want to go for a Vanguard… but as you said, they may well making a next version of it… so I am reluctant.

Im glad I never had to.crawl from the avenger titan's cargo hold to it's cockpit. But I suspect the avenger will lose 2 scu of cargo in it's gold pass.

I do like the new ships, but it seems the upgrade of other ships to the gold standard has come to a crawl. Forget the difficulties with the avenger... how are they going to handle the aurora 😂
