In 2008, India had selected GE engine to power LCA . We had enough time to start a local production here in India. But all of our order placed like AD-HOC basis. IAF placed small orders in batch by batch on ad-hoc basis. We yet not has clear long term planning. IAF is treating LCA as backup plan rather as primary plan.

For short term requirements one could continue with ge-404 engines for long term requirements as of now we have three aircraft engines which are assembled /manufactured in India with varying degree of indigenization and ip rights they are 1) kaveri engine 2) al-31 fp engines 3) rd-33 engines we need to improve/upgrade/indeginize these aircraft engines for our various requirements just as china has done so.

Abhi tak sab facility nahin milli hai DRDO ko. Ek 4 engine FTB, IL-76 class ka aircraft aur ek Su30/Mig29 class ka aircraft zaroori hai testing ke liye. Baar baar ham Russia jaate rahte hai testing ke liye.

I once met an ISRO scientist ( just then retired, initially wasn't telling anything about himself ). i asked him directly " why do we....?" He gave an example from ISRO itself & said " videsh ghoomne ka laalach hota. agar videsho se collaborate karte hain to videsh ghoomt hain, mehnat bhi nahi karni padti. Indigenous banayenge to mehnat bhi karnu padegi & videsh bhi nahi ja payenge ". He said "you are a very decent person, you won't understand" & he was right - it took me a decade to understand that he meant bribe from foreign nations ; not just foreign trip.

Can you share thoughts with below points: 1. Scrap MRFA with Rafaels as they are 4.5 gen, they already have too many orders and we are already building them with LCA mk2 (Increase the pace to match Rafael delivery). 2. Buy small batch of 5th gen fighters from Russia to bridge gap with Pakistan and China capabilities, from saved money of MRFA 3. Go with local manufacturing of GE engines be it for LCA mk1/mk2. Give GE tax break and other incentives like raw material from Russia for this. May be a loss for now but good for futur 4. Keep enhancing Kaveri engine as future replacement for LCA mk1/mk2 as an option. Use current engine for drones/TEDBF. 5. Go with Rolls-Royce ( we are already ditched by GE and Frenxh will never share technology after MRFA is scraaped) to build 5/6 gen engine with local manufacturing and patents for future capabilities. Plz share your thoughts. I know seems simple.

Perhaps the most balanced view. The GE 404s might be delayed but they will come eventually. It would be prudent to go for 404 assembly along with the proposed 414 assembly. However it is important to continue the Kaveri development, even if it means pumping more funds.

With older metallurgy, if Kaveri had achieved dry thrust of around 49kN and wet thrust of 73kN, then we can hope that with new metallurgy and with some improvements, it will achieve 52-54 kN of dry thrust, and 85kN+ wet thrust with improved afterburner varient. In march Alpha Defence team was saying that they have seen air trials of Tejas Mk 1A aircraft and it will be delivered before 31st March. Its august now and the same aircraft is not delivered. Now alpha team says that delay is because of lack of engines. Can you guys tell what stops HAL to deliver the aircraft which has doing air-trails in march ? Is it also because of engine delay?? Its shameful that alpha defence team is busy hiding the inefficiencies of HAL and trying to pass the buck to GE

In March 1st tejas Mark1a took flight. So, it means, it had an engine! why happened to that 1 Tejas mark1a delivery?? why no one is answering this? why HAL is not able to deliver that atleast that 1 aircraft? this only means that there is something else other than engine delay which nobody is telling, or HAL is hiding! I am Surprised that even your channel has not answered this!

As per information available Ge404 engines in unknown quantity were ordered For Tejas mk1a from General electric company( USA ) . company is facing some issues in supply chain . So the engines r not delivered on time. Engine deliveries r expected from September 2024 according to some media reports . Tejas mk1a will be rolled out after that.

Gentleman the serious problem is that India possessess very many premier educational institutions despite which there exists a calibre deficit. Now kindly explain where is the problem. India is a nation which hasn't been able to marshal its resources it intrinsic vitality. There are systemic issues in the system of Governace .Rewards are not reaching their source of merit .
