@@umpwuggly i do know his real background and not the fictitious stories he tells. He was literally a beneficiary of government assistance and universities that try to give poor people a leg up by lowering the bar for them. He's a DEI candidate.

@@James-kn6om "a beneficiary of government assistance" and by that you mean the GI Bill that he received after serving 4 years in the Marines and during that time being deployed to Iraq? And "universities that try to give poor people a leg up by lowering the bar for them" he went to Ohio State University where he finished in 2 years! Then we went to Yale Law School. And he wrote a best selling book that became a movie lol. You're trying to make the argument that he's not as smart as someone might think because people have lowered the bar for him, but all of his achievements contradict your foolish assertions. Even if they lowered the bar by allowing him into Yale Law School you still have to be intelligent and hard working enough to graduate, which he did. But why would someone who had a drug addicted mother and served 4 years in the military not be deserving of some opportunities in life? Listen, there are thousands of people who have been "given a leg up" but to become a senator and a vice presidential candidate is truly a reflection of his own intelligence, work ethic, and character.

@@chazzmckinney4414 no, I mean the government assistance his family got from WIC, which he and his party want to cut. Look up what people said about him before he went to college. He was far from an exemplary student. Congrats to him for making something out of himself but he's extraordinarily disingenuous and fake everytime he opens his mouth. He only says things that will win him favor when it's most expedient for him. Which is why he went from calling trump Hitler to defending him when he talks about using the military on us citizens who disagree with him.

Because many of the Firefighters who are leadership in the IAFF are liberal despite their a majority of their membership that lean center right. Its sad because first of all its politically rude to invite someone to give a speech only to boo them instead of hearing them out. Its also terrible that many in the IAFF can't see the forest for the trees. Poor liberal economic policies hurt everything- including firefighter raises, pensions, and even jobs.

Most firefighters in the IAFF are conservative, I appreciate Vance taking the chance to speak and recognizing that he's grateful for "Both sides" being heard- Says a lot about character- There is an opportunity for National level republicans to embrace Labor, especially public servant labor. He makes some strong points about being "let down" by democrat economic policies- these destroy our pensions values and the cost of living and make life harder for everyone, including firefighters.

@@Butterflies58824 Firefighting is a service industry. If Cities and Towns don't have businesses to pay taxes they run out of funds and the first things that go are service industries. How much is being spent on those that shouldn't be here? It's billions across the country. That should be being spent on government services and infrastructure or being given back to the taxpayers.

At time stamp 18:10 you hear the comment he made in full about the shoe fitting. Hearing it in full debunks the accusation that he said he was anti-union. What a lame, cheap trick to cut his sentence in half to change the meaning.

IAFF to introduce JD Vance as the next Vice President of USA, that was a huge misstep. Tells how out of touch IAFF are after Gov Walz presentation. The audience warmly applauded the Coach because he spoke on issues important to IAFF members. Get real!

It's important to me that we keep companies and manufacturing here in the U.S.. Without the good jobs here taxes don't get paid which means PDs, FD's and other local government can't function.
