@jodekoek100 I am not up to date on Tekken lore (and please answer in the most non-spoiler way possible since i intend to eventually get up to date on Tekken lore), but wasn't Akuma able to match Tekken's best when he went there? And Oro is able to go toes to toes with Akuma (Akuma wasn't Shin Akuma when they clashed, but Oro didn't use his second arm). That would imply Oro is on par with Jin or Kazuya. He may look like some decrepit old man, but in a reality Oro is canonically one of the best fighter in Street Fighter.

@@emperormegaman3856 alright in the least spoiler way possible you know of devil Jin and devil kazuya I imagine you’d have to that’s been in the games since 2003 well those where imperfect forms not fully grasping the devil gene power nor controlling it kazuya is the first one that fully unlocks it power and he can level a city easily with one eye lazer and brings the world to it knees instantly after defeating what he sees as the only threat his own son Jin I still don’t consider these major spoilers these are the first 5 minutes of Tekken 8 and Jin is supposed to a lot stronger then kazuya if he could finally get a handle on the devil genes power wich he has only done in a animated movie so far not in the games yet the movie is called Tekken blood vengeance not a very good movie but Jin’s completed devil form is worth the watch. So akuma came in whent toe to toe with the oldest character in Tekken maybe one of the strongest but certainly one of the oldest heihachi kazuyas father and Jin’s grandfather wich kazuya killed in that same game and after killing his own father on a exploding volcano mind you akuma jumps in to get his chance on a tires kazuya only fights him to a stalemate and buggers of to his own world in time for street fighter 6 so that’s what happend so let’s not even talk about how a fight between akuma and a mastered devil gene Jin would go because in our heart of hearts we all know

The commentators are as important to the FGC as the players. They're all like really good friends I've never met. And the role they play in bringing the hype and telling the stories of the different players is instrumental to the experience.

They are, first of all, as big fans as everyone else and they know how to entertain with their words. Since the formation of the "modern fgc" in the SF4/T6 era, that boosted up the growth of the event production standards in the scene, commentators became vital to the whole project.

Well said. I think this was most notable for me when I realized that at the end of every tournament, I felt a bitter-sweet emotion that it was coming to a close, and hearing the commentators goodbyes are what sell it.

Very well said. In physical sports like Football, Basketball, MMA, and Professional Wrestling(especially WWE, UFC, and the NBA) the commentators are CRUCIAL to keeping the crowd entertained and informed. Other than to watch dudes batter each other, Joe Rogan was one of the reasons why some people would tune in to watch the UFC in the earlier years due to his ability to call out the styles, the moves, as well as the overall deeper mental game that is MMA. He helped people understand that it's not just "dudes beating up dudes," and for the people who already knew that, he calls out what others watching might have missed. This also applies to those such as Tasty Steve, Yipes, etc.

I play both and I like them for different reasons I think street fighter perfected the footsies formula, it’s so simple but so effective. It’s like I’m watching chess with two players just trying to get a read on each other In Tekken, I just think it’s cooler. People are like doing flips, insane action, and it feels more like a battle for survival

i’ve always been a tekken player, but not gonna lie… sf6 is pretty damn good. i’ve been hooked, playing with ken, since a bought it on steam a couple weeks ago. i really love tekken 8, but this street fighter title has been so refreshing. i’m really enjoying it.

I grew up during the dopest era in gaming(16 bit era)til current gen now. I can wholeheartedly say that i love em both equally. Unconditionally. The execution in both is a beautiful thing. To summarize it myself. I think footsies and fighting happens in Street Fighter. Chaos and crazy moments happen in Tekken. I find street fighter to be more fair as a fighting game. Tekken at this moment is more called an arena fighter. I love me some Tekken though.
