there was a novelty to having actual speech in a game in the early 90s as gameplay sound cues, capcoms rich 80s/90s game heritage probably meant the devs at the time still found it novel to have speech audio informing the player of what was going on.

I actually play a Strider and Juggernaut team for many reasons. Juggernaut’s assist has super armor and it’s more reliable to extend combos than Dr. Doom, also, it’s useful with Strider instant overhead. But the most important is that he balances Strider low health, and many times he can body block him, so Juggernaut takes the possible hits for Strider. IMO this is the beauty of MVC2, make your own strategies and teams

Yeah I pick Jugs because his ground smash locks down opponents for combos and supers. Also his super is instantaneous and you can easily hyper combo off it if you bounce the enemy. It’s funny when it works on a raw tag.

I have being playing mvc2 since dreamcast version. I'm loving the atention you are getting because you was the reason I started to play this game. It's both relentlessly deep and incredibly simple. You have a friend over, learn the basic (universal) inputs, pick some characters you like and watch the hours roll by. One of the fighting games that successfully captured both a large casual and competitive player base.

Juggernaut is a character most players sleep on. You've got to put in the work if you want to do combos with Juggernaut, but honestly you don't have to. Just landing his heavy punch does respectable damage. Doing a super jump that lands jumping heavy punch into forward heavy punch takes about 30%. What really makes Juggernaut a threat is his charge super. It has no start up and it does multiple hits. On start Juggernaut is armored and the super will go through most attacks, but with enough attacks Juggernaut can be knocked out of the super. Something that surprised Justin and me was Juggernaut's charge super not connecting after Juggernaut's grab. That works! Especially the grab where Juggernaut headbuts his opponent multiple times. The charge super is OTG. Anytime Juggernaut has even one bar of meter means he is a threat. All that said, the character is very slow, and most of his attacks leaves Juggernaut open to be countered.

There’s a giant pool of players that honestly think playing with input lag, and winning, means you’re…winning. Except they’re totally different when much better inputs come into play with offline/or someone that has very good wired with at least a wired 1gb. I play old UMvC3 on Xbox and people WiFi switch and base their entire play on specific lag input. I have no idea why someone is so concerned playing the slowmo version of a game and winning, how is that meaningful.

Everyone in the fgc knows your capabilities are god tier but training some random Joe (aka me) would no doubt be a bigger challenge than smashing everyone in ranked. It would make for an original mini series and could be used across multiple fighting games!
