Captain commando was never a bad character! I find it humourous when Combofiend got mocked for calling characters functions in MVCI yet the community is literally unironically using some of these characters only for their assists thus proving Combofiends point lmao commando is not the worst character, far from it! He's very strong and d players at the top just never bothered playing with him outside of his assist! I will never forget the irony of jmcroft discussing how commando is the worst character in the game only good for his assist(because he's just a function to these guys) while simultaneously showing a 1 vs 3 captain commando comeback, comedy gold!

People used him 20+ years ago its just that the gap between tops and everyone else is so huge CapCom is generally going to lose if he has to face Storm or Sentinel. Hell Trons great compared to most of the cast too with higher than normal stamina and good normals with the ability to combo into a super but stuff thats safe against Spiderman and Marrow aint safe against Cable or Magz
