One gov contractor was convicted of engaging in child trafficking in Bosnia in the 1990/ early 00s and the government never blinked. Kept awarding them more contracts. 13 employees got sent home but wouldn't that action just protect them from Bosnian courts. DC,the contractor, fired the whistleblowers. No criminal charges for the 13. . At least in 2002 those whistleblowers could still find relief. My point is a quality fall off is nothing compared to what already gets covered up to protect business as usual.

Hey Dan I work at the Everett, Wa Boeing plant. Nearly 10yrs now @ the largest manufacturing building in the world. Let me tell you what’s really going on. The union sold everyone on 40% wage increase and getting our pension back. I KNEW that would never happen. And when the new contract came out that had great things but being honest a lot of greedy people work there that want more more more and it’s never enough. So when the contract came out and it didn’t have ( what SO many people expected of a 10-15k signing bonus 10-15% of what you made for the year) including that 40% wage increase overtime etc. a lot of people were upset and voted no. I personally voted yes for the contract and no to strike. I could have been making 12$ more an hour ( one of the addition in the contract was to Zoom so you don’t have to wait 6 years to max out pay, I changed job positions so had to restart my 6 year max out time all over) that would be gone for people over 1 year of being employed. A handful of other great things was in the contract. 3k signing bonus, use vacation as you accumulate it, 4$ hr raise, ect. But bottom line.. Boeing factory’s workers here are plagued with its never enough I want more. I love my job there and it’s sad to see what’s going on.
@tobiastaylor3979
@tobiastaylor3979 Күн бұрын
P.s Boeing is going to struggle trying to pay out more than what was just in this last contract. Obviously with everything you just covered in this show/economy etc. I can guarantee.. that when the new contract comes out and we all get back to work they will have a MASSIVE lay off.

Think about this, i agree to a certain point. but since the inception of the biden administration things have gone up 50% and not the bull shit this administration has been feeding people. 9% people know this is BS. This is a hard nut to crack, it will depend how long the workers can hold out and Boeing to hold out. Remember the workers are the ones helping Boeing make their billions of dollars. So how much can Boeing afford to lose, and if they reorganize and hire new people, exactly how much knowledge would these new employees know about the hands on building of new planes. Hell they may resort to hiring a bunch of illegals who are not citizens and do not speak english. Would you even think about flying after that ? Maybe boeing should cut the fat of the higher ups and they may be able to save there.

I worked at Boeing for almost 40 years and can tell you when I worked there we used to have two sets of eyes look at everything, but this was in Seattle and I don’t know what they’re doing in North Carolina! I learned the hard way that if you did a good job, Boeing would just push more work on you because they didn’t want to deal with the people who didn’t want to work or pull their weight. And if you started complaining, then they looked at you like you were the problem. The companies management is horrible, and the unions aren’t any better! In the past, I have called out inspectors and other employees who didn’t want to do the work, but can’t tell you what’s happening since I’ve been gone since 2016. But when I went out on strike in 2007-8 time frame we were out for months and then the economy collapsed, and everybody went back to work. I see the same thing happening this time, only much much worse!

There is driver appreciation week, the company office personnel would cook hamburgers and hotdogs , picnic stuff for us over a 2 or 3 day period, even seen the sign they posted out in the driveway, But here is what I was told, they was giving out gift cards now, since drivers not able to make it back to the terminal/homebase to get to sit and eat to enjoy, so they discontinued the festivities. So my thoughts are, is that away to keep everyone on the road and keep turning miles, to make money, Is this company having issues, which I know they are... Just another sign of the times... crash and burn baby!!!😊

But on the ground business taught me productivity and getting value from my business resources. Today I watched Ford v Ferrar.i. When Ford went over to a small Italian town to buy Ferrari a picture was taken of the closing that showed about 12 Ford suits at the table v only Enzo Ferrar.iand his local small town lawyer. Boeing is just like that picture ie Boeing is heavy on top management who are by and large produce little productively and even add even less value to justify their top managers salary. Arrogance, Fat,, Waste and the CEO's Bonius is what many big US Corporationsc Top management is all about ? Boeing CEO gets .according to his congressional testimony $44,000 000.00 per year

Also, Yellow is still fighting the Warn Act. Hopefully, bankruptcy judge will force them to pay 60 days of wages for not giving 60 days notice of closure.

This isn't Boeing's first rodeo . . . in 1969-1971 they had issues with the new 727; they were the largest employer in the Puget Sound area, and before the dust settled they laid off over 60% of their employees. It sent the entire area into an economic downturn for years.

I have a number of friends that work at Boeing and not one of them tells me they actually like working there. So they are only there for the benefits and money they say. If they don't get their demanded raise they will move to another company close by to get the same or more wages and benefits......wait...that company doesn't exist. A 40% wage increase is unthinkable to me when in the immediate and surrounding areas of Seattle police forces have been reduced like mad in order to be able to balance their budgets. On the other hand our tax money in this state will be turned over to Boeing from the Federal and WA State governments to pay for their unearned wage/benefit demands in the end.

ponder this! will the IRS hold the stealership OR the leasee responsible IF they get caught????
@waynek805
@waynek805 Күн бұрын
I don't think there is any IRS risk to the leasee here. The idea is that a leased car is bought from the manufacturer by a leasing company and is by definition a commercial vehicle (owned by a company not a private individual). Dan seems to have misinterpreted the situation.

This is the five time IAM went on strike since 1988. Boeing does not pay a penalty to airlines when IAM goes on strike. Boeing will do ok. At one time the economy around Seattle revolved around Boeing. That was a long time ago. The economy of Seattle has diversified they do not rely on Boeing.
