Some background on the Disney short film, Lava. It was obviously about 2 volcanoes, more importantly it was sang and harmonized by 2 well known Hawaiian artists, Kuana Kahele Torres and Napua Grieg, so like in Iam fashion, he stayed true to his roots. Lava is/was A HIT in the islands, he truly represented everything he is in pure humble form ❤ 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽 Same with Cool Down. He took huge risks by staying true to him and he still won.

I've heard lots of performers try really hard to do their version, and he just sits there and softly sings it so smooth, so natural, not trying to outdo anyone, then turns into pop, putting his own skin on it, continuing in that soft smooth voice.

The part where James sang "You can feel my hand on your arm" and put his hand on Iam's arm, just no words. As a professional, he rose above not only to hold Iam together but himself as well. James Blunt's original with his father in it was highly intense because of his feelings at the time. Absolutely different voices and persona but truly amazing individuals. Such an emotional performance by both singers pouring their hearts out and touching so many. Iam is still grieving and James is still holding on hope. Iam Tongi, I know your father is watching over you to make sure you fulfil his dream that he being for you. I know when you go through this idol, you sing but your Dad is always beside you. I so believe that when you guitar broke, that is the temptation to stop you become a world famous singer for this millennium. You have touched so many souls in the world through singing and that’s the message to the young ones, old and new, female and male today. You have change the history of music and put a stop to bring about the music about family, peace, love, respect, kindly brotherhood and it’s your music now to bring to the world to help so many, that haven’t see their parents for long, long time. Well, to be totally honest, all of his songs are my favorites. What a talent and to be only 18 years old. I hope he stays true to himself his entire career.

I love the sound of Iam's voice. I cry every time i hear this song. I still have my father around which im very grateful. Im going to play this song for my son. My son lost his dad in 2018. James Blunt s Dad was on dialysis as well and dying. That's why James wrote that song. Fortunately James had a family member whose kidney matched and saved his Dad. Iams Dad was on dialysis as well, but passed. That's why it hit James as hard as I am.

Do you know who arranged the music for Iam? He probably did his own but who arranged it for backup singers and orchestra? You talked a lot about how he made the songs his own by changing tempo, etc. I'm interesting in knowing how they added to it.
