Cleaning and Replacing Polymeric Sand in a Paver Patio

Great video man! I’m dealing with this exact problem. The polymeric sand is loose. It isn’t just one of these issues. It’s basically, every issue you mentioned. No consolidation, low spots, no drainage, shaded, and probably poor base material taboot. I was just supposed to clean and do some maintenance, but now I’m beginning to think the whole patio could need to be redone. Thanks for the video

Yeah, it is probably why I am not going to even bother offering this as a service because there could be more problems than just the sand. It could be something that just needs to be re-done.

Do you think a urethane hand tamper instead of a plate compactor would work in this situation?

It may work if it is not at all possible to get a compactor

What nozzle setting/attachment do you use on the pressure washer when cleaning out the joints

It is the wide angle in this scenario using the guard on the pressure washer, but a turbo nozzle works best

Any reason you haven’t used compactor with rollers. A bit scary to use that big machine.

How to charge a job like this and how much

how much time it would take you divided by how many hours you work in a year to give you a percentage of your year that the job would take. Multiply that by your overhead for the year, add in your labor, add materials, add a profit. Also important that this is a two day job regardless of the job size because you need to come back when the entire patio is dry to install the polymeric sand, it cannot be same day.
