Walleye and Sturgeon biting good on the Wisconsin River Railroad Bridge

Took a trip out on the Wisconsin River. Got several walleye and drum bites and a big Lake Sturgeon.

I've been fishing there and upriver at the dam for 35+ years and it's still one of my favorite spots !

this bridge is set to be rebuilt for a hiking and bike path. the other side where the railroad jets out into the river to the right there is a very very deep hole there. be careful of the step bank sandy edge. but still a good spot

Nice job. I've got lots of pics of eyes a sturgeon from the Wis. river, my favorite river to fish. Your day was better than mine, I had a root canal this morning. I went to work after that. Then I went to a free mulch pile to get some free mulch, surprising , I know. Anyway I stepped on an extremely sharp object which caused a deep puncture wound in my foot. I know it hit the bone cause I can feel it. I hope something didn't break off in there. So it's to the doctor tomorrow, but my foot is throbbing with pain right now. I'm not sure why I'm sharing all this except I wish I would have caught a sturgeon instead. I like that flat weight you use, what do they call them?

Not sure, I bought it in a bag with weights ranging from 1 to 4 oz.

how far do those drum come up the river. i fish the point flowage a lot and have never seen one.

Hi! Cool video, what’s a gotto fish? What kind of rig are you using with those live bait? How do you handle the mosquitoes?

A gatto fish is Italian for cat. So it literally means catfish. Mosquitoes come with the territory. Wearing long thin sleeves when it's summer during dusk is tolerable and it helps. I usually spray down my clothes. They make a mosquito head net and a full top head and chest ,arms cover. I usually don't wear them unless the mosquitoes are brutal.

There were walleye around the county m bridge area but I’ve caught a lot of catfish and bass in Madison at all the parks like Tenney or Marshall.

Yes, Wisconsin river. It’s right outside of Sauk city.
